The Milwaukee Bucks’ star point Damian Lillard suffered a lower leg injury in a 129-103 loss in Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Bucks fear that Lillard tore his Achilles.

Lillard, who recently returned from deep vein thrombosis, got hurt with less than six minutes left in the first quarter. The veteran tried to secure an offensive rebound when he fell on the ground. He needed help to get up and didn’t return to the game after.

Speaking after the game, the Bucks’ head coach Doc Rivers said things are not looking good for Lillard.

“Just being honest, it’s not very promising,” Rivers said. “I knew it right away. I felt bad for him; the guy tried to come back for his team. I just felt bad for him.”

Lillard was limited to 58 games in the regular season, averaging 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists. He missed almost a month due to deep vein thrombosis before returning for Game 2 of the series against Indiana. He struggled since then, averaging 10.5 points in Games 2 and 3.

The Bucks now find themselves in a tough position in the first-round playoff series against the Pacers. They are down 3-1 in the series and need an away win to avoid being eliminated in the first round for the third straight season.

The Miami Dolphins are ready to move on from star cornerback Jalen Ramsey just two seasons after acquiring him in a blockbuster trade from the Los Angeles Rams. According to general manager Chris Grier, the franchise is actively attempting to trade the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Grier confirmed that the decision wasn’t a result of Ramsey’s trade request or contract dispute. However, he stopped short of explaining why the two sides are set to part ways.

“I will say these decisions aren’t done quickly and they’re not taken lightly because we spent a lot of time this offseason working through this, talking through things,” Grier told reporters during a press conference earlier this week. “ … So we went through the process and just felt that after numerous conversations and then talking last week with Jalen and his agent, that it was best to move forward and it was in the best interests of the Miami Dolphins and for Jalen Ramsey.”

The Dolphins would likely want to complete the trade ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, where they could target his replacement with acquired draft compensation or the No. 13 overall selection they already own. The rest of their cornerback room is thin and consists mainly of unproven players like former undrafted free agent pickup Kader Kohou and 2023’s second-round pick Cam Smith, who only played six games last season due to an injury.

Ramsey is expected to have a lot of interest considering his resume. However, it is unclear how much the Dolphins would get for him, considering his declining form and large contract. He played in 17 games last season, getting two interceptions, 11 passes defended, and 60 tackles.

Wide receiver Julio Jones, best known for his time with the Atlanta Falcons, announced his retirement from the NFL.

Jones, who last played in the NFL in 2023, shared the news via video shared on the Squad app.

“It was an amazing ride,” Jones said in the video. “I’m making this announcement today because of the city of Atlanta. Thank you, man, I appreciate y’all. It’s nothing but love.”

The Falcons selected Jones with the sixth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He would go on to play 10 years in Atlanta, becoming a franchise legend and one of the game’s best wideouts at his peak. Jones earned seven Pro Bowl selections and received five All-Pro honors while leading the league in receiving yards twice over that span.

After an injury-plagued season in 2020, the Falcons traded Jones to the Tennessee Titans. He spent one season in Tennessee before embarking on stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jones retires as the Falcons’ all-time leader in catches with 848 and receiving yards with 12,896. He also has the second-most touchdowns (60) in franchise history.

Overall, Jones will end his career with 914 receptions for 13,703 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns. His three career games with 250+ receiving yards are the most in NFL history, while he’s also the only wideout with five consecutive seasons in which he had 1,400 receiving yards or more.

The Atlanta Braves acquired lefty Jose Suarez in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels. The Braves sent right-hand pitcher Ian Anderson in the opposite direction.

The Suarez-Anderson swap is the fourth time that the Braves and Angels did business together since the end of the 2024 MLB season. This is not surprising considering that the Angels’ general manager, Perry Minasian, worked under the Braves’ GM, Alex Anthopoulos, from 2017 to 2020.

With this trade, the Braves and Angels both hope that a change of scenery will prove beneficial for once-promising pitchers who went through a rough patch in the past several years.

Suarez made his MLB debut for the Angels in 2019. After initially struggling in the majors, he started establishing himself as a reliable part of the rotation for the LA team. He made 45 starts in 2022 and 2023 combined, going 16-16 with a 3.85 ERA and 188 strikeouts.

However, Suarez suffered a shoulder injury in 2023 and struggled to find rhythm after that.  He played 22 games last season but most of them were in the relief role.

Anderson, on the other hand, was considered among the Braves’ top pitching after being selected third overall in the 2016 MLB Draft. His best season in MLB came during the 2021 campaign, in which he went 9-5 with a 3.58 ERA and 124 strikeouts while helping the Braves win the World Series. After struggling in 2022, he was demoted to minors before undergoing Tommy John surgery that kept him out for the entire 2023 season and the better part of 2024.

Defending champions Real Madrid are through to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after beating their city rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties on Wednesday night. Real is the last team to punch the ticket to the next stage, with all UCL quarter-final matchups now being set.

Real entered the match in a comfortable position thanks to a 2-1 win in the first leg. However, Atletico needed less than a minute in the rematch to erase that advantage thanks to a goal from midfielder Connor Gallagher.

It appeared that the score set the stage for a thrilling game, but that didn’t turn out to be the case as both teams took a cautious approach. Vinicius Junior had an opportunity to get Real ahead on aggregate once again in the 70th minute but ended up missing a penalty.

Neither team managed to score another goal for the rest of the regular time and extra time, which led to a penalty shootout.

Real emerged victorious, converting four of their five penalties with Antonio Rudiger scoring the deciding penalty kick. Meanwhile, Atletico saw Julian Alvarez’s penalty score nixed due to a slip and double-kick, while Marcos Llorente hit the crossbar.

Real Madrid will now face Arsenal in the quarter-finals. Other matchups include Paris Saint-Germain going up against Aston Villa, Barcelona facing Borussia Dortmund, and Inter Milan playing Bayern Munich.

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur opted to pass on their option to make forward Timo Werner’s loan move permanent in the summer. This represents great news for MLS teams, who are keen on bringing Werner to the United States.

Werner initially joined Tottenham from Bundesliga’s RB Leipzig in January 2024 on a six-month loan that was later renewed for the 2024-25 season. As part of the agreement between the two clubs, the Spurs received an option to make the move permanent for a fee of £8.5 million ($10.78 million).

However, Werner failed to make an impact for Tottenham this season, scoring just one goal in 27 appearances in all competitions. He also missed significant time due to a hamstring injury.

RB Leipzig is unlikely to have a place for Werner in its squad next season and will likely be willing to let him walk for free or at a steep discount. If that ends up being the case, several MLS clubs are likely to be interested in the 28-year-old German.

The New York Red Bulls are reportedly considered to be the favorites for Werner’s signature, having already held exploratory talks with his representatives. However, the move is facing several obstacles as Werner might ask for a significant financial package while there is still doubt whether he is ready to leave Europe at this point in his career.

The Carolina Panthers will keep veteran quarterback Andy Dalton in the building after his mentorship proved beneficial for their young signal-caller Bryce Young.

The Panthers announced that Dalton, who was set to become a free agent, signed a new two-year deal to continue serving as Young’s backup. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the contract is worth $8 million with $6 million in guaranteed money and a potential maximum value of $10 million.

Dalton played much more than expected in the 2024 season. After Young struggled in his first two games, Dalton took over as a starter for the Week 3 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders and led the team to a win. He ended up making four more starts before ceding the starting job back to Young due to a thumb injury.

Young played well down the stretch, showing significant improvement, and credited a lot of his newfound success to Dalton.

“He is always there, just trying to help me out,” Young said. “And again, having a guy like that who really does it for the right reasons and wants to help, that’s super rare. So I’m super grateful for that.”

Andy Dalton entered the league in 2011 as the second-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. He went on to start nine seasons for the franchise before embarking on stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and now the Panthers. Dalton has thrown for 39,500 yards and 253 touchdowns while having an 84−82−2 record as a starter. He also has three Pro Bowl selections on his resume.

The New Orleans Saints have settled on Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their new head coach.

The move can’t be officially confirmed as Moore still needs to get the Eagles offense through the Super Bowl LIX clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints have made their decision and are ready to finalize an agreement with Moore on the first opportunity they get.

The Saints considered a number of names for their head coaching vacancy, including Washington Commanders’ OC Kliff Kingsbury and Bills’ OC Joe Brady, but Moore emerged as a favorite early in the process. The franchise is intrigued by his offensive acumen while Moore himself wants the job and is excited by the opportunity to be the head coach for the first time.

Moore isn’t entering an easy situation. The Saints have salary cap issues and an aging roster that needs significant retooling. The good thing, however, is that he will likely have the opportunity to remake the team in his image and won’t be under pressure to win right away.

A former quarterback, Kellen Moore got his coaching start with the Dallas Cowboys. He retired with the franchise in 2017 and took over as its quarterbacks coach ahead of the 2018 NFL season.  Moore was promoted to offensive coordinator after a year and held the job until 2022 before leaving for the same position with the Los Angeles Chargers.

After one year in LA, Moore came to Philly to work as OC under Nick Sirianni. The Eagles ranked eighth in 2024 in total offense, putting up 367.2 yards per game, while being the league’s second-best rushing offense with 179.3 yards per game.

Despite all the reports linking him to MLS, it appears that Brazil’s star striker Neymar won’t be coming to the United States. Instead, Neymar is reportedly close to returning to his boyhood club Santos.

Neymar is currently under contract with Saudi Arabia side Al Hilal but the two sides are negotiating an early termination. Neymar joined Al Hilal in a $98 million transfer in the summer of 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain but only played seven games for the club due to various injuries.

If Neymar and Al Hilal reach contract termination, the Brazilian would give up around $65 million in wages. He is expected to sign a six-month contract with Santos that would contain an option to extend it for one more year.

Neymar recently had exploratory talks with at least three MLS clubs including Chicago Fire as he looks to bounce back after a challenging period and regain his place in Brazil’s national team. However, his priority has always been returning to his home country and those talks didn’t progress further after Santos expressed interest in reunion.

Neymar joined Santos’ youth team in 2003 and made his professional debut in 2009 as a 17-year-old. He spent five seasons with the club, scoring 136 goals in 225 games while helping Santos win Copa Libertadores, Copa do Brasil, and three Campeonato Paulista titles. He left the club in 2013 to join La Liga powerhouse Barcelona in a $55.3 million transfer.

With Barcelona, Neymar won two La Liga titles and one UEFA Champions League trophy before departing to PSG in 2017 for a world-record $263 million. During his time in France, he won five Ligue 1 titles.

Neymar is also Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, having 79 goals in 128 international matches.

The Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson underwent a second Achilles surgery and is now in jeopardy of missing the entire 2025 NFL season.

Watson initially tore his Achilles in October in a Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals and had surgery several days later. Earlier this week, he rolled his ankle while rehabbing and underwent an MRI test that showed a tear on the same Achilles.

“Watson’s recovery time and return to play status is uncertain, and he will likely miss significant time during the 2025 season,” Browns said in a statement.

Reportedly, there is also a chance that Watson won’t play at all next season. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Watson’s recovery time will be at least seven months.

The injury might signal the end of  Deshaun Watson’s time in Cleveland despite the fact he still has two years left on his fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract. The Browns have a No. 2 pick in the upcoming draft and might use it to take one of the top signal-callers in the class.

Since joining the Browns in a blockbuster trade from the Houston Texans ahead of the 2022 NFL season, Watson showed little of his previous talent that earned him three straight Pro Bowl appearances. He played just 19 games and is 9-10 as the team’s starting quarterback while often putting below-par performances. He completed 61.2% of his passes during that time, throwing for 3,365 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
