Veteran cornerback Logan Ryan decided to take some time to decide his next step after he announced departure from Tennessee Titans earlier this month. However, it seems like the 29-year-old already has his preferred landing spot.

Ryan recently made an appearance on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, and decided to address the rumors that New York Jets are among the teams interested in him. According to the two-time Super Bowl champion, that is one option he would consider as “it makes lots of sense.”

“The Jets, I mean, it makes a lot of sense because I’m from the area,” said Ryan. “I went to Rutgers, 20 minutes from there, so I’m familiar with the area. I’m blue-collar. That’s how I grew up.“

However, Ryan won’t rush with the decision.

“That would make sense for sure, but … I’m trying to do what’s best for my family and everything like that. Obviously, there’s a lot of rumors out there. I can’t confirm any of it because I’m obviously still not signed. We’ll see,” he added.

Logan Ryan had a career year in 2019, setting career-highs all across the board with 113 tackles, 18 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and 4.5 sacks while also adding four interceptions. After the season ended, Ryan hoped he will get a contract extension from the Titans and was reportedly even willing to take a one-year deal to stay in Tennessee. However, the team didn’t show a lot of interest in keeping him, and he hit the free market.

Besides the Jets, who seem the most likely option due to lack of depth o corner, Miami Dolphins are reportedly also keen on Ryan. Fit is here less obvious than in New York, as Jets previously signed CB Xavien Howard on a record-breaking extension while using a first-round pick in 2020 on Auburn’s Noah Igbinoghene.
