N’Golo Kante is in talks with Chelsea over a new contract, sources have confirmed. The central midfielder’s current contract with the club will lapse in June.

According to reports, Chelsea is expected to offer him a new three-year deal worth through June 2026. Multiple reports have claimed that negotiations between the two parties have gone smoothly.

Despite the challenging period being faced by the club as of late, Kante remains satisfied at Chelsea and intends to remain at the club. Even as injuries have hampered Kante’s ability to perform over the last two seasons, manager Graham Potter and the club’s new owners remain keen to keep the French midfielder at the club. Potter sees Kante as an ideal partner to new signing Enzo Fernandez, who won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina.

Kante arrived at Chelsea in 2016, fresh after his Premier League title win with Leicester City. Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Kante has won the Premier League, Europa League, and Champions League.

The 31-year-old player has been sidelined since August last year, missing out on the World Cup as a result. Recently, he returned to training with the team and is soon to return to first-team action.
