The Dodgers won it late, late in the 18^th inning to help them keep the margin to 2-1 in the longest World Series game in history. The game lasted seven hours and 20 minutes, eclipsing the White Sox versus Astros’ 2005 game 3 that ended after five hours and 41 minutes.

In terms of innings, Friday’s game eclipsed a 14-year record made three times in 1916, 2005 and 2015 by six different teams. Interestingly, the game also lasted longer than the whole of the 1939 World Series when the Yankees beat the Cincinnati Reds in 7 hours and 5 minutes.

Although one game down, the Dodgers will enter Game 4 looking more motivated than ever. They nearly lost Game 3 in the tenth inning but Cody Bellinger saved a shallow hit by Eduardo Nunez and fired it to Austin Barnes to nail pitcher Ian Kinsler.

Starter Walker Buehler was the man of the match for the better part of the game. He threw the first pitch of the game and remained splendid for the remaining 18 innings. Muncy scored the winning home run, ending a game where all players looked tired and sleepy. Game 4 will be held on Saturday.
