]]>According to reports, they are expected to sign veteran Graham Gano, who is going to compete for the starting job against recently-signed Chandler Catanzaro. The story was broken by former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, who said that the Giants are hosting Gano.
New York is expected to sign the former Carolina Panthers kicker once he passes his physical and all COVID-19 testing protocols.
The 33-year-old kicker spent all of last season on the sidelines due to a leg injury. He was released by the Panthers last month after eight excellent years with the team. Carolina made the move in order to save $4 million. Gano was one of the highest-paid kickers in the NFL.
Gano was born in Scotland, but moved to the U.S. at a young age. He played college football at Florida State but was undrafted coming out of college in 2009. Gano has been incredibly consistent in his career, hitting on 85.5% of his field-goal tries. He made his first and only Pro Bowl in 2017.
