The Lakers initially branded the injury as “foot soreness” but internally feared that the All-Star forward might need a procedure. After putting the player through a number of tests in recent days, the team now feels the surgery won’t be necessary and is referring to Davis’ condition as “a stress injury.”

If Davis manages to get back on the reported timeline, that would be great news for the Lakers. He has been by far their best player, averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. He has also put himself in the conversation for NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

During the Q&A segment, one athlete decided to ask the 26-year-old All-Star whether he would consider playing for the Bulls if he had a chance for that.

“Honestly, it’s nothing like playing at home,” Davis responded. “I don’t know. … I mean, I am a free agent next year, but we’ll see. It’s a possibility.”

While Anthony Davis most likely just wanted to please the home crowd, the fact is that the Chicago Bulls have a talented young team that is on the rise. If Lakers don’t fulfill Davis’ NBA title hopes soon and Bulls keep on getting better, nothing guarantees that he won’t get homesick in the future.
