]]>Still, Saints’ All-Pro defensive end Cameron Jordan believes his team is closer than ever to win it all. In a recent chat with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Jordan urged the organization to start capitalizing on all those playoff chances.
“I’m heading into year 10. I love it. I’m super excited about it,”said Jordan. “You know, there’s nothing in me that is telling me that our team isn’t close to a championship or being a championship-caliber team if you look at the last three years. You know, playoffs, playoffs, playoffs. Playoffs, NFC Championship, playoffs. This is something that we have to capitalize on.”
Jordan added that all the new additions, like QB Jameis Winston and Malcolm Jenkins, make Saints even stronger compared to recent years.
“There’s so many positives on paper. I just want to get back to the field and really see what we have,” he explained.
New Orleans Saints finished at the top of NFC in each of the past three seasons and were considered a Super Bowl contender each time. However, they couldn’t get over the hump despite playing close games.
In 2017, they lost to Minnesota Vikings in Divisional Playoffs in the last seconds of the game. In 2018 and 2019, they were handed overtime defeats by LA Rams and Vikings respectively.
