The post JJ Barea Reveals Dirk Nowitzki “Hated Miami” in 2011 NBA Finals appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Most NBA fans know the Cinderella story that transpired that season. Nowitzki and his band of brothers were never expected to get far in the playoffs, let alone make it to the championship round. The Heat, on the other hand, were led by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh—and were the heavily anticipated favorites to win it all from the very start.
What folks don’t know is that Nowitzki apparently got a little bit ticked off at the Miami Heat’s Big Three. While normally perceived as a calm, kindly fellow, the news that he had some beef with them is actually kind of refreshing.
According to his fellow Dallas teammate that championship season JJ Barea, Nowitzki couldn’t stand their opponents. Barea revealed as much in JJ Redick’s podcast: “[Nowitzki] was not going to let us lose. The way he prepared the whole year for it. He hated Miami. He hated LeBron, Wade, Bosh. He’s never going to say that, but he couldn’t stand it.”

]]>Bosh, who was drafted into the league by the Raptors, won two consecutive titles with the Heat but didn’t manage to three-peat in 2014. Kerr worked with TNT back then and said that Miami won’t win their third title and gave them a lecture on the difficulty of getting the three-peat.
Now Bosh decided to return the favor during his recent appearance on TSN.
“[Kerr] said we weren’t gonna do it [three-peat] so I’m gonna tell him you aren’t gonna do it either, Steve,” – said Bosh said as he pointed to the camera.
While we doubt Steve Kerr will lose sleep over this, Chris Bosh made some impressive correct predictions in the past. Back in February he already knew who will end up in NBA Finals this year, saying on The Bill Simmons Podcast that he expects Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors to play for the trophy.
Bosh picked Warriors to win it all back then, but now changed his mind and gave his former team the advantage. This might have been influenced by a number of factors including Kevin Durant’s injury or the fact that Kawhi Leonard plays on an MVP level.

]]>Chris Bosh, who was part of the Heat’s “Big 3” from 2010-2016, which also included LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, was honored with a ceremony prior to the Heat’s game against the Orlando Magic.
Bosh was part of two teams that brought championships to Miami in 2012 and 2013. He also made six All-Star teams in his six seasons in a Heat uniform.
His career was cut short at only 32 years old in 2016 after dealing with blood clots in his lungs and legs that prevented him from playing the sport.
The 6 foot 10 inch big man delivered an emotional speech, thanking the Miami Heat organization and the fans of the Heat in both English and Spanish, in a nod to Miami’s large Latino community.
It’s certainly easy to see why he was so beloved in Miami, as he was both an excellent player and a player that had a close connection with the team’s fanbase ever since signing for the Heat in 2010.
Bosh spent the first seven years of his career as a member of the Toronto Raptors.
He now enters the lore of the Heat franchise, and no player for Miami will ever again wear his #1.
