Kevin Durant slipped and sprained his ankle during the pregame warmups before the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.

About an hour before tipoff, the new Suns player was performing an individual drill when he lost his balance while jumping to take a shot. Although he managed to get back up and continue training, Durant’s ankle began to show swelling once he returned to the locker room, leading to the Suns ruling him out for the game.

“I feel bad for him because he feels bad,” Suns coach Monty Williams said. “I saw his face and — I’ve been around him so many times — I know what he’s feeling and I don’t want him feeling that way at all.”

Despite the disappointment of Durant being unable to make his home debut for the team, the Suns were able to progress without him, pulling off a 132-101 win. Devin Booker turned up as the Suns’ key player on the night, scoring 44 points on 17-of-23 shooting in just 28 minutes.

Booker finds himself in strong form, being named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

We witnessed one pretty nasty injury back on Saturday night when Golden State Warriors guard Patrick McCaw had to be carried out of the court after a painful landing on the ground.

At first, most of the people pointed towards Vince Carter, stating that he is the man to be blamed for such an outcome. Sacramento Kings small forward was near McCaw when he jumped and he diverted his path, which made young guard lose his balance. Immediately, the 41-year-old started feeling sorry for what he did and at one point his eyes were full of tears.

After the game, a huge debate started spreading over the internet and the media, about Carter. One side is claiming that he is a dirty player and that he wanted to hurt younger colleague.

But among others, who are defending one of the best dunkers in NBA history are Golden State Warriors superstars, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green.

“I know Vince’s spirit and his heart. I don’t believe it was intentional at all. It looked like he was just caught in the middle of the play and wanted to move out of the way, but Pat was coming so fast.” , Durant stated for the ESPN. ” It was just an unfortunate play. Nobody in our locker room thinks Vince did that on purpose.”

Our sports desk wishes a fast recovery to Patrick McCaw who needs to rest in order to heal his concussion.
