]]>The calendar for the next year starts with Bahrain Grand Prix in March and wraps up with Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December. There will be a total of 24 races, an increase of two races compared to the current season.
The new addition to the calendar will be the Chinese Grand Prix, which is scheduled to return after four years of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic. Also included is Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which was canceled this year due to massive flooding that happened in the Emilia Romagna area.
There have also been several notable movements. Japanese GP, which usually takes place in the second half of the season, will be moved to the fourth circuit in 2024. Azerbaijan GP jumped to be the No. 17 circuit, while Qatar GP will now be back-to-back with Abu Dhabi GP.
âIâm delighted to announce the 2024 calendar with 24 races that will deliver an exciting season for our fans around the world. There is huge interest and continued demand for Formula 1, and I believe this calendar strikes the right balance between traditional races and new and existing venues,â said Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1.

]]>The Japanese GP itself was highly controversial as the race was stopped after only two laps due to bad weather. After a lengthy delay, the drivers returned to Suzuka for a restart but managed to only complete 29 laps before the official three-hour race window wrapped up.
Verstappen led the whole race and emerged as a winner, but he didnât realize he was also a champion crossing the checkered flag. The Dutch driver thought he would receive only half of the allocated points due to the race not being completed in full. However, since the race actually concluded on the track, the drivers were entitled to full points despite the short duration.
âYeah, itâs really a crazy feeling of course because I didnât expect when I crossed the line,â Verstappen said. âYou could see it slowly happening. Itâs incredible that we did win it here.â
With 25 points from the Japanese GP, Verstappen collected 366 points in total and is out of reach for the rest of the field. His Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, who finished second at Suzuka, is at No. 2 with 253 points, while Ferrariâs Charles Leclerc sits in third place with 252 points.

]]>Ricciardo previously had a contract with McLaren through 2023, but the team decided to release him a year earlier in order to free up a car for Formula 2 champ Oscar Piastri. This left Ricciardo low on options since only Alpine, Haas, and Williams havenât locked their lineups.
Ricciardo recently told the reporters that his management is talking with a number of teams and that he is weighing his options. One of them is to remain in F1 but as a backup.
âI know that if I choose to take a reserve role or not race next year, nothingâs guaranteed,â he said. âSo that comes at a risk, but thatâs what we are weighing up. At this stage, especially with a top team, there are no guarantees.â
Daniel Ricciardo started his Formula 1 journey in 2011 with HRT Formula 1 Team. He had his biggest success while a member of Red Bull, finishing third on the Drivers Standings in 2014 and 2016. Ricciardo has 19 points in 17 races this season and is yet to make the podium.

]]>Hamilton started Sunday’s Russian GP from grid number four but soon found himself at the sixth position following a bad start. With a timely pit stop and excellent driving, the Mercedes driver managed to get to second place but still had McLaren’s Lando Norris ahead of him. Then, four laps before the end of the race, the rain started.
Hamilton immediately entered the pit stop and changed his tires to intermediate, while Norris decided to take a risk and stay on dry tires. But this would soon prove to be a costly mistake, as Norris couldn’t keep his car in check on the wet tarmac and ended up sliding off the track, which Hamilton used in his favor and took the lead on lap 51.
Hamilton finished first with more than 53 seconds ahead of the second-placed Max Verstappen from Red Bull. Norris had to be content with the number seven finish.
“It’s taken a long time to obviously get to 100, and I wasn’t even sure whether or not it would come,” Hamilton said in the post-race interview. “Lando did such an amazing job. He had incredible pace.”
The win helped Lewis Hamilton jump over Verstappen and sit at the top of F1 Driver Standings for the 2021 season with 246.5 points. Verstappen, who finished second after starting from the back of the grid, has 244.5 points.

]]>Let’s start by saying that this definitely wasnât Team Mercedesâs weekend even though they were celebrating 125 years in motorsports and also the teamâs 200th race in the Formula 1. Everyone expected great results from them since they qualified really well, having Lewis Hamilton in the pole position. Once again, the 21-year-old Max Verstappen gave everyone a small glimpse of his evidently great future, showing near-flawless skill and talent on the racetracks. ]]>Mercedesâ brilliant Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix race, finishing 1.342 seconds faster than Ferrariâs Sebastian Vettel.
What first seemed like a clear victory for Vettel, quickly changed into a frustrating second place after he got a five-second penalty for unsafe re-entry during the race, thus making British driver Hamilton a winner of the Canadian GP.
Driving under tremendous pressure from the world champion, the Ferrari driver made a mistake and paid for it. If he didnât get blocked, he would likely have passed Vettel, who was leading until things got a new direction in the 48th lap. Â
Even though Hamilton technically finished second, he got to claim the 7th straight victory for Mercedes during this season. Vettel said that that overregulating gives no edge to the sport and that this was not the sport he fell in love with. Â
The final results at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec were Hamilton in the first place, Vettel in the second and Ferrariâs Charles Leclerc in the third.
