Despite his Indianapolis Colts being eliminated from the playoffs, the season is still not over for veteran offensive tackle Jared Veldheer.

After playing for the Colts in the wild-card loss to the Buffalo Bills, Veldheer is now expected to sign with the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. If he suits up for the Packers in the divisional game against the LA Rams, he’ll become the first player in the history of the NFL to play in the same playoffs for two different teams.

As Schefter points out, Veldheer is eligible to sign with another team as he was on the Colts’ practice squad when he played against the Bills.

Veldheer played for the Packers in 2019 as well, coming out of retirement to help the team in their playoff run. He started in the win over the Seattle Seahawks, filling in for Bryan Bulaga.

This time around, Veldheer is also expected to have a big role for Green Bay as the team deals with multiple injuries across the O-line. They previously lost David Bakhtiari to a season-ending ACL injury, while Rick Wagner is questionable due to knee issues.

Jared Veldheer entered the NFL in 2010 as the Oakland Raiders’ third-round pick. He also suited up for the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos before initially retiring in 2018.
