The post RB Jeremy Hill, 2014 Second Round Pick, Signs With Raiders appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Hill confirmed the news himself on Sunday via social media post.
Most recently, Hill played with New England Patriots in 2018. He suited up only once for the franchise, tearing his ACL against Houston Texans in Week 1 and spending the rest of the season on the injured reserve list.
Raiders most likely brought in Hill to increase the competition in the backfield after Devontae Booker landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The 27-year-old player is expected to receive a chance to fight for one of the backup roles in training camp, although his chances of making the final roster cut are reportedly slim.
Jeremy Hill had a great start of his NFL career, rushing for 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns in his rookie year while leading the league in touchdowns with 11 in 2015. However, an ankle injury and the emergence of Joe Mixon in 2017 caused Hill to be deemed surplus in Cincinnati, and the organization opted not to extend his rookie deal.

]]>Hill, who signed a one year deal with the Patriots during the offseason, started his career in New England on a good note. He opened the game against Texans with four carries for 25 yards (6.3 yards per carry) and had six catching yards while blocking a punt. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, he was hit in the leg in the third quarter and was forced to leave the game.
Jeremy Hill spent the first four years of his professional career with Cincinnati Bengals, who took him in the second round of 2014 NFL draft. In his rookie season, Hill rushed for 1,124 yards and earned himself a selection to PFWA All-Rookie Team. In his sophomore year, he was NFL rushing touchdowns leader with 11 while being a valuable player for the Bengals in 2016 as well.
Last year, however, saw Jeremy Hill having a disappointing season in which he played seven games before going down with an ankle injury. During that time, he had 116 rushing yards and 16 receiving yards.
Back in March, Hill decided to sign a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the New England Patriots hoping to revitalize his career. After an impressive season, he was named the third running back on the depth chart. Unfortunately, he will have to wait until 2019 to get another shot of getting back to playing at the highest level.
