Jermaine Kearse started his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2012. After five years with the Seahawks, during which he had mixed success, Kearse was traded to New York Jets in a deal which included defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson.

Kearse had a successful first season with the Jets, ending 2017 with career-high 65 receptions for 810 yards and five touchdowns. 2018, however, saw him struggling and he only managed to catch 37 passes for 371 yards and one touchdown.
