Los Angeles Angels entered this year’s free agency with an intention to get a top pitcher after they had the second-highest ERA (5.64) in MLB in 2019. The team pursued top free agent Gerrit Cole, while also considering Dallas Keuchel and Hyun-Jin Ryu. Cole decided to sign with the New York Yankees, but the latter two still remain a possibility despite Teheran’s arrival.

Julio Teheran spent his entire MLB career with the Braves, who signed him back in 2008. Teheran made his majors debut in 2011 and has since played 226 games as a starter. He has a 77-73 record and has made pair of All-Star appearances.

Teheran’s career stats include 3.67 ERA, 1,184 strikeouts, and 1.211 WHIP.
