]]>While Mbappe reportedly did not stay with his squad for the entirety of Sunday’s training session, he is expected to be a full participant in training on Monday.
Mbappe suffered a hamstring injury on February 1 during PSG’s 3-1 victory over Montpellier. Since then, the reigning Ligue 1 champions have struggled to find form, being eliminated from the French Cup by Marseille before losing 3-1 to Monaco in their latest Ligue 1 match.
“We need to do less talking, work hard, analyze things properly,” PSG coach Christophe Galtier reflected after his team’s latest defeat. “Of course, our players have their pride, so do I. Yes, we’re worried [about facing Bayern]. But we must keep a clear head.”
Although the team appears to be in desperate need of Mbappe’s firepower up front, Galtier insisted that his team will not take any risks by using Mbappe if he is not entirely fit enough to play.

]]>Mbappe suffered the injury in PSG’s 1-0 Coupe de France final win against St. Etienne on Friday. The 21-year-old player was taken down by a sliding tackle from defender Loic Perrin in the first half and had to leave the game. He ended up taking part in the trophy celebration on crutches.
According to the club’s official statement, Mbappe will now have to miss around three weeks of action recovering.
“As announced after the final of the Coupe de France against Saint-Etienne, Kylian Mbappe was examined on Monday in order to know the severity of his right ankle injury,” said PSG in a statement. “The examination performed today confirms a sprained ankle with an external ligament injury. Following this, the recovery time is estimated at around three weeks.”
PSG is set to meet Atlanta on August 12th in the Champions League single-elimination game. This won’t be enough time for Kylian Mbappe to return, but he could be there to help his team if the French club manages to advance to semi-finals or finals.
Mbappe has been enjoying another prolific season in 2019/20, managing to score impressive 30 goals alongside 18 assists in just 34 games in all competitions.
