The Minnesota Vikings star wideout Justin Jefferson is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is yet to sign an extension with the franchise. But despite a lack of progress in negotiations, the Vikings are not entertaining the idea of trading their best player, as some recent rumors suggested.

Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Vikings’ general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said that Jefferson won’t be traded.

“That is not something that has once crossed my mind,” Adofo-Mensah said while appearing at the NFL Scouting Combine. “You’ve got a blue player and a blue person. You try to keep as many of those as you can.”

Jefferson became extension-eligible last offseason, but the two sides couldn’t get on the same page. The negotiations were called off once the 2023 season started, but Jefferson and the Vikings have reportedly started talking again in recent weeks.

Adofo-Mensah confirmed that the Vikings are willing to break the bank for Jefferson, believing they have the best wide receiver in the game.

“We think he’s the best wide receiver in the league, and he should be compensated as such,” he added. “We think he’s one of the best non-quarterbacks in the league, and we think he should be compensated as such.”

Justin Jefferson, Vikings’ first-round pick in 2022, earned Pro Bowl nods in each of his first three years in the NFL. He dealt with injuries last season, which limited him to 10 games, but still managed to get 68 receptions for 1,074 yards and five touchdowns. Jefferson is averaging 98.3 yards per game as a pro, which currently stands as the NFL record.

The reports about Pro Bowl linebacker Haason Reddick wanting to leave the Philadelphia Eagles seem to be incorrect. That is at least what Reddick told Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.

Reddick, who is a Philadelphia native, has one year left on his three-year, $45 million deal but no guaranteed money. He is reportedly looking to get a new deal in line with his status as one of the team’s best players on defense, something that the Eagles don’t seem eager to do.

“I would like to get an extension done here at home. At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded, “Reddick said. “This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I’ve cherished being an Eagle.”

Reddick later reiterated that he never asked to be traded via post on X (former Twitter) but added that he’s “preparing for whatever is next.”

It is safe to say that Reddick outperformed his $15 million annual salary since joining the Eagles in 2022. In his first season with the franchise, he racked up a career-high 16.0 sacks and a league-leading five forced fumbles. He followed that up with an 11.0-sack campaign in 2023. The 29-year-old player was a Pro Bowler in both of those seasons.

On the other hand, the Eagles are already stretched cap-wise while also having several glaring needs on defense. This is why it wouldn’t be surprising that the franchise moves on from Reddick despite his production and invests money elsewhere.

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly ready to move on from star running back Derrick Henry. According to Michael Silver of BallySports.com, the Titans have been shopping Henry at the NFL Scouting Combine and told teams that they are ready to listen to offers.

While Henry has been a franchise cornerstone for the Titans, it isn’t such a surprise that he could be at the exit door. Tennessee’s recent moves, which included cutting ties with a number of veterans, signaled the franchise is at least considering some form of rebuilding. Trading Henry while he still holds value could get them back assets that could help the process.

It is unclear what kind of market Henry might have. There are rumors that the 29-year-old is looking for a new contract, with that being part of the Titans’ motivation to trade him. He is slated to earn $10.5 million in salary in 2023 but doesn’t have any guaranteed money left on his contract. The team that acquires him would likely have to give him an improved deal as part of the package.

Derrick Henry has arguably been the best running back in the league in recent years. He had his best season in 2020 when he rushed for 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns en route to the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award.

Henry missed eight games in 2021 due to a Lisfranc injury but bounced back last season to rush for 1,538 yards and earn third career Pro Bowl nod.

Sources divulged to ESPN on Monday night that the New York Jets are moving to acquire running back James Robinson in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This comes as the Jets seek to fill the injury-inflicted void in their backfield.

In exchange for Robsinson, the Jets are prepared to offer the Jaguars their 2023 conditional sixth-round draft pick, which will become a fifth-round pick should Robinson rush for 600 yards this season. With 340 yards already, Robsinson looks on track to reach this target.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas began scouring the market for a replacement for standout running back Breece Hall after the rookie suffered a season-ending knee injury on Sunday. With the November 1 trade deadline fast approaching, Douglas is under pressure to find a suitable replacement in time.

While one of the league’s standout players two seasons ago, Robinson has since been knocked down the pecking order on the Jaguars’ roster. His expendability makes him a more achievable target for the Jets.

Although a strong replacement, it will prove challenging for Robinson, or any other alternative for that matter, to replicate Hall’s production. Hall sits eighth in the NFL in rushing with 463 yards and has scored a touchdown in each of his four previous games.

The Denver Broncos are further from the playoffs with each passing week and the rest of the NFL is reportedly attempting to take advantage of this. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, multiple teams have contacted the Broncos in recent days to ask about the availability of some of their stars in a trade.

Schefter reports that the players who received the most interest are outside linebacker Bradley Chubb and wideout Jerry Jeudy. Third-year wide receiver KJ Hamler also has more than a few suitors.

It is understood that the Broncos still believe they can turn things around after starting the season 2-5 and are not actively shopping the previously mentioned players. However, the franchise would consider a serious offer if one would come their way.

Before the start of the season, it seemed unlikely that Denver would be sellers at the NFL trade deadline. The franchise pulled off a massive trade for Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson, hired a new head coach in Nathaniel Hackett, and got new owners with deep pockets. However, Wilson and Hackett have struggled on the job since then, and it is becoming clear the Broncos can’t do much, at least this season.

Trading Chubb and Jeudy would likely net significant draft capital for the Broncos, something they badly need after giving away a heap of picks to get Wilson. The duo is also up for extensions sooner than later, and the Broncos could use all the salary cap space they can get, especially if they end up needing to retool their roster next offseason.

There is a strong chance that veteran defensive end Robert Quinn won’t see out the end of the 2022 NFL season with the Chicago Bears. According to multiple reports, the Bears are shopping Quinn around the league and would like to move on from the three-time Pro Bowler before the upcoming NFL trade deadline.

The Bears’ actions are not surprising, considering that the team will endure another disappointing season after going 2-4 in the first six weeks. Their rebuild process is far from over and would have better use of draft picks than a player in the third year of a five-year, $70 million contract.

Quinn was extremely productive last season, having 18.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 16 en route to Second-team All-Pro selection. However, his numbers are quite disappointing in 2022, as he only has one sack in the first six games of the season. This will likely make it a challenging affair for the Bears to actually move him out of Chicago.

Playoff contenders are expected to do their due diligence on Quinn, but the Bears will most likely have to take responsibility for much of his $12.8 million salary. Also, Chicago should be content if they manage to get a late-round pick in exchange.

Robert Quinn previously also played with the LA Rams, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Miami Dolphins. He played 159 NFL games and managed 102.0 sacks and 32 forced fumbles. His resume includes three Pro Bowl nods, two All-Pro selections, and NFL forced fumbles co-leader title in 2014.

The 49ers look ready to start the Trey Lance era in San Francisco. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team recently allowed veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to seek a trade that would clear the room for Lance to be the 49ers’ undisputed starter.

The franchise hoped to move Garoppolo shortly after the 2021 season, but the 30-year-old player underwent shoulder surgery around that time, and the market for him cooled off. Now Garoppolo has been cleared to play football again, which probably made the 49ers feel better about sending him out of San Francisco.

Garoppolo has led the 49ers to playoffs twice in the past three seasons, including a Super Bowl trip in 2019 and an NFC Championship appearance in 2021. However, despite his success, San Francisco believes they can be even better with Lance, whom they took third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It is unclear where Jimmy Garoppolo might end up if he leaves the 49ers before the season starts. He was previously linked with the Carolina Panthers, but they probably don’t have much interest after acquiring Baker Mayfield. The Seattle Seahawks might be an option, although it is unclear how Garoppolo fit in their offense.

Garoppolo has a 31-14 record as a starter since arriving to the 49ers in a trade from the New England Patriots. In these past five years, he threw for 11y162 yards, 66 touchdowns, and 38 interceptions.

The Cleveland Browns will be starting fresh at the quarterback position after four up-and-down seasons with Baker Mayfield. The franchise just confirmed the acquisition of Pro Bowl signal-caller Deshaun Watson, who is coming to Cleveland in a trade with the Houston Texans.

In order to get Watson, the Browns gave up significant draft assets. They will send the Texans their first-round picks in 2022 (No. 13), 2023, and 2024 alongside third-round selection in 2023 and fourth-rounder in 2024.

As part of the trade, Watson will also receive a new contract. The deal is for five years and $230 million, all of which is guaranteed. This is the largest guaranteed contract ever given to an NFL player and makes him the second-highest-paid QB in the league in terms of average annual salary. The Browns gave the 26-year-old player a new deal despite the fact that he had a four-year, $177.5 million extension, signed with the Texans in 2020, starting this season.

Deshaun Watson asked to be traded last offseason, becoming disgruntled in Houston after the franchise didn’t consider his inputs during their search for a new general manager and head coach. The Clemson product spent the 2021 season with the Texans regardless, since interested teams were cautious about trading for Watson due to his off-the-field issues and steep asking price. However, the weak QB class in this year’s draft and lack of veteran options caused some of his suitors to change their minds.

Thanks to a no-trade clause in his contract, Watson had a big say in his next destination. He eventually shortlisted his options to the New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers, and the Browns, meeting with each team in person. The Saints and the Falcons were considered the favorites towards the end of the process, but Cleveland’s contract offer proved to be enough to shift the odds in their favor.

The Browns made several other QB-related moves in the past couple of days, trading backup Case Keenum and bringing in veteran Jacoby Brissett. They are also expected to trade last year’s starter and former No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield in the coming weeks.

The “will he or will he not?” question revolving around Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was finally answered by the man himself. On Tuesday, Rodgers sent out a tweet confirming that he will remain in Green Bay and play for the Packers in 2022.

Rodgers’ future was one of the hottest topics in the NFL ever since the back-to-back NFL MVP asked the Packers to trade him last offseason. In recent weeks, the 38-year-old QB considered several options, including staying with the franchise, playing for another team, or even retiring. In the meantime, Green Bay made a strong push to convince him to keep playing with the same organization that drafted him, and it appears they managed to seal the deal.

According to multiple reports, part of the Packers’ pitch was offering Rodgers a new contract that would make him the highest-paid player in football. However, the player himself called these reports “inaccurate.”

“I’m very excited to be back,” he concluded.

Aaron Rodgers played on an elite level in recent years, winning an MVP award in each of the past two seasons. He finished 2021 with 4,115 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and only four picks while leading the Packers to a 13-2 record in full games he played. However, the Packers came up short in the playoffs, which is why many people believed Rodgers would end up returning to the team for a redemption campaign.

The Packers now face a challenging offseason in which they need to put a winning roster around Rodgers despite their complicated salary cap situation. They entered the offseason being $45 million over their projected salary cap and have several key players looking for new deals, including wideout Davante Adams.

Pro Bowl wideout Julio Jones won’t be wearing an Atlanta Falcons jersey anymore. The news was confirmed by the man himself during a recent appearance on Fox Sports’ Undisputed.

During a recent edition of the show, hosts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless discussed recent trade reports linking Jones with the Dallas Cowboys. At one point, Sharpe decided to pick up the phone and ask the 32-year-old player whether he’s staying in Atlanta or going to Dallas.

“I’m outta there,” said Jones after picking up the phone.

Jones added that his next destination is preferably a place where he has a chance to win.

“Right now, I wanna win,” he explained.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport previously reported that Julio Jones officially submitted a trade request to the Falcons at the beginning of the 2021 offseason. The team has been engaged with potential suitors for a while now and is reportedly asking for a first-rounder in exchange. Atlanta would like to send Jones to the AFC but is ready to deal with NFC teams if “the price is right”.

Julio Jones spent his entire professional career with the Falcons, who drafted him No. 6 in the 2011 NFL Draft. Jones made seven Pro Bowls and received five All-Pro nods with Atlanta while leading the league in receiving yards twice.

Jones has 848 career catches for 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns. He currently holds the NFL record for career yards per game with 95.5.
