]]>Coan, who entered the NCAA’s transfer portal in December with one season of eligibility, confirmed the news on social media.
Coan started 18 games for Wisconsin in 2018 and 2019, leading the Badgers to a 12-6 record. He threw for 3,242 yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in those two seasons. The 21-year-old QB was especially successful in 2019, completing 69.6 percent of his passes while leading the program to the Big Ten West Division title.
Coan won’t be guaranteed a starting job at Notre Dame, but there is a good chance he’ll end up getting it regardless. The Fighting Irish will most likely lose current starter Ian Book to the NFL next year while backups Drew Pyne and Brendon Clark lack experience.
Wisconsin, on the other hand, will most likely move on with Graham Mertz, who stepped in for Coan in 2020. Mertz started six games last year, recording three wins and three losses while throwing for 1,108 yards, eight TDs, and five interceptions.

]]>Notre Dame, one of the top programs in the history of college football, has traditionally played as an Independent throughout its program’s tenure as a college football powerhouse. Nonetheless, in what promises to be an atypical 2020 season, they have been temporarily allowed to join the ACC and take part in its conference’s schedule.
The move was necessary for the Fighting Irish, who would have found it extremely difficult to make a schedule as an Independent due to the fact that many conferences are choosing to have a conference-only schedule or a schedule that only allows for one out-of-conference matchup.
Notre Dame is expected to be a College Football Playoff contender, coming in between 8th and 12th in most preseason rankings.
The ACC announced on Wednesday that each team would play 10 conference games and would be allowed only one out-of-conference game. The top two teams in the entire conference will square off in the ACC Championship Game in mid-December in Charlotte, North Carolina.

]]>“Arike hadn’t been shooting the ball particularly well. Jess was.” stated McGraw.
But things on the court looked different, and the player who was getting the ball inbounds, Jackie Young decided to switch the play in the last seconds, because of she noticed that the Mississippi made a surprising defense.
“For me, taking the ball out of bounds, whatever I was looking at, I didn’t like the way it looked,” Young said. “Before that I had told Arike, ‘Hey, if this matchup doesn’t look right, make sure you come back to the ball.’ I made sure she was heading my way and I passed it to her. When I gave it to her, I knew she was going to do something big.”
So, in the span of just two days, Arike Owungobale became the ultimate hero of Notre Dame, and after hitting a game-winner against UConn, she repeated the same in the biggest game of her career.
And she wasn’t even planned to do it.
