]]>The terms of the contract remain under wraps so far, but it is believed that Funchess will ink a one-year deal in an attempt to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2019. The 25-year-old spent the last season with Indianapolis Colts, but a broken collarbone limited him to just one game.
Devin Funchess entered the league in 2015 as Carolina Panthers’ second-round pick. Panthers’ viewed him as their No.1 wideout in the making, but he never managed to fulfill that role. While he did show flashes of his talent in Carolina, Funchess struggled with back problems and passes drops, causing Panthers to let him walk once his contract expired.
Funchess ended up landing a one-year, $10 million deal with the Colts, but couldn’t prove his value due to an injury. He has 164 receptions for 2,265 yards and 21 touchdowns so far in his career.
Green Bay Packers were looking for a No.2 option on the WR position for some time now, and Funchess might be the answer. If he manages to remain healthy, there will be no shortage of chances to prove himself that he belongs in this league.
