]]>Dybala agreed to an extension with Juve early in 2021-22, but the two sides never made the contract official. After a while, the Italian club approached Dybala with a lower offer, something the 28-year-old player wasn’t willing to accept.
The two sides then went back and forth before Juventus decided to acquire striker Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January. Vlahovic’s arrival made Dybala surplus to requirements and the club opted not to make an effort to keep him in Turin.
Juve’s CEO Maurizio Arrivabene recently admitted this while chatting with Italian media.
‘With the arrival of Vlahovic, Paulo was no longer at the center of the project, and we made this decision,” Arrivabene explained.
Since arriving at Juventus in 2015, Paulo Dybala played 283 games for the club in all competitions and contributed with 113 goals and 48 assists. He helped Juve win 12 trophies, including five consecutive Seria A titles.
Dybala is expected to have plenty of suitors in free agency. He could remain in Italy, where Inter Milan and AC Milan are monitoring his situations. The list of other interested clubs includes Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.

]]>Dybala is interested in staying in Turin but previously had issues with the wages Juve was offering him. He reportedly asked to get $14 million a year, the same annual salary center back Matthijs de Ligt gets, while the club came well below that.
Recently, Juventus increased their bid and are now offering Dybala around $11.7 million in salary while allowing him to boost his earnings through bonuses. Claciomercato reports that this will most likely get the job done and that the 27-year-old star will commit to staying at Allianz Stadium for the foreseeable future.
Juventus is highly motivated to get Paulo Dybala’s contract done as soon as possible, especially since he could start negotiating with other teams in January and leave the club in the summer for nothing. The Turin side also considers Dybala to be one of their key players for the future and expects him to have a big role in terms of goal scoring and assists after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
Dybala has been solid in 2021-22 so far, scoring two goals and dishing two assists. This, however, did not do much for the club early in Seria A campaign as they are currently at No. 12 with just one win from five matches.

]]>The new contract would reportedly keep Dybala in Turin through 2025 while bumping his salary to $14 million a year. The two sides have several minor issues to iron out but remain optimistic that the deal will be reached soon.
This news comes just days after Dybala told CNN that he is happy with Juve and would like to remain with the club for years to come.
“I am happy to be here, people love me very much and I love people very much. I have a great appreciation for the club and the people who are here, I have a good relationship with my president and we will certainly talk at some point,” said Dybala.
Paulo Dybala found himself on the brink of leaving Juventus last summer after a disappointing campaign in 2018/19 in which he scored just five goals. He was linked with several high-profile clubs, including PSG, Barcelona, and Manchester United, with Juve reportedly openly entertaining offers for him.
However, Dybala rejected the opportunity to leave Italy and it turned out to be a good decision for both sides. The 26-year-old managed to bounce back in 2019/20 and emerge as one of the club’s most important players. He scored 13 goals and added 12 assists in all competitions so far in the season.
