The Golden State Warriors got an important 118-114 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night, but surprisingly, their superstar Stephen Curry didn’t have much to do with it.

Curry had a poor shooting night against the Blazers, making only two shots from the floor and finishing the game with seven points. The 35-year-old player also didn’t make a single three-pointer, marking the end of an impressive streak.

Before the Blazers game, Curry had made at least one three-pointer in 268 NBA games, which is an absolute record. The last time he didn’t score behind the arc was a 134-111 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in November 2018. Now, the longest streak belongs to Bucks’ Damian Lillard, who has 102 consecutive games in which he made a three-point shot.

“We can’t rely on Steph to bail us out on every single night,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game. “It was a tough night for him. But that’s what a team is supposed to be about — everybody filling in for each other, different guys stepping up each night. That’s a great sign because he’s carried us for long enough this year. We need to give him more help.”

While he had an off night against the Blazers, Stephen Curry has been playing lights out so far in the 2023-24 campaign. He is averaging 28.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

The 2022-23 NBA MVP award race is one of the closest in recent memory. Each of the three main favorites—Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic, Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid—has a legitimate case to get the honors, and the voters will have a hard time deciding who has the slight edge.

However, the answer is clear if you ask Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. Speaking with Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes earlier this week, Curry, who was two MVPs himself, endorsed Embiid as the most deserving of the award.

“I would say Joel [Embiid],” Curry said when asked about his pick for this season’s MVP. “Any person you pick, their body of work could be compared to [Nikola] Jokić or Giannis [Antetokounmpo]. But Joel took a leap that I think a lot of people didn’t expect because he was dominant already.”

“That leap turned heads and put [the Philadelphia 76ers] in a great position. If I had to pick, it would be him,” Curry added.

Unlike Jokic and Antetokounmpo, Embiid doesn’t have an MVP award on his resume. He has been the finalist for the award in the past two seasons but lost both times to Jokic. This season seems like his best shot considering the dominant run he put together. The 29-year-old player is currently averaging career-high 33.0 points per game while adding 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 blocks.

The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is set to remain on the sidelines, with the team planning to reevaluate his lower left leg injury in another week’s time. So far, the point guard has missed five games as a result of the setback.

Curry’s left knee collided with that of Dallas Mavericks point guard McKinley Wright IV during the Warriors’ 119-113 win on February 5. As a result, he incurred partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane along with a contusion to his left lower leg.

“We know we are going to be without Steph for the foreseeable future, so same thing as what happened the last time he went down … we patch things together,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said with regard to Curry’s absence. “The guys strung together a five-game winning streak. We held down the fort. That’s the plan this time, too.”

Heading into the final 24 games of the season, Kerr insists that his team must “tighten up” regardless even as several key players remain unavailable. The Warriors are currently ninth in the Western Conference standings.

The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is set to be re-evaluated on Saturday for his left shoulder subluxation. The Warriors are hoping that he will be able to return to action next Friday as the team gears up to face the San Antonio Spurs as part of a six-game road trip.

“He’s working out on the court, and the two-week mark to re-evaluate him this weekend,” Warriors general manager Bob Myers confirmed. “There have been no setbacks, so (Friday) would be a hope. That’s what we would be shooting for, something in that range when he could be back. He’s been, not contact, but out there doing all this stuff. He looks like the same guy. He’s got a sleeve on his shoulder and arm.”

Curry injured his shoulder during the Warriors’ 119-125 loss to the Indiana Pacers on December 14 when he bumped into the Pacers’ Jalen Smith in the third quarter.

Wednesday night’s 122-119 loss to the Detroit Pistons sees the Warriors go 6-5 without their star point guard. The team now finds itself within reach of a playoff spot. Ranked ninth in the Western Conference, the Warriors are tied with the eight-placed Phoenix Suns and are a game behind the sixth-placed Los Angeles Clippers.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is set to undergo further tests after injuring his left shoulder during his team’s 125-119 loss at the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

Curry sustained his injury during the third quarter when attempting to strip Indiana’s Jalen Smith of the ball. Following this injury, Curry was unable to continue the game and had to depart with 2:04 left in the quarter.

“I checked in with [Curry] briefly but haven’t had a chance to go into detail,” coach Steve Kerr stated after Curry’s departure. “Steph is always a guy with a great outlook on life, so he’s in good spirits.”

Kerr went on to praise Curry for the effort he put into his offensive game in an effort to give the Warriors a fighting chance. He amassed 38 points; almost half of the Warriors’ 80 points before his injury. It was ultimately this effort that led to his shoulder strain.

In order to accurately diagnose the issue and its severity, Curry will undergo an MRI scan on Thursday.

It’s been a great week for the Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry. Less than 24 hours after winning the 2022 NBA Championship and NBA Finals MVP honors, Curry learned that his No. 30 jersey would be retired by his alma mater Davidson.

The school’s Director of Athletics, Chris Clunie, confirmed the news on Friday morning saying that Curry’s No. 30 will be hung on the rafters at a ceremony on August 31st. The 34-year-old guard will also receive his bachelor’s degree and become part of Davidson’s Hall of Fame on the same day.

Curry will be the first Davidson player to receive this honor. The school previously retired six jerseys but never retired player’s number as well.

Stephen Curry spent three years at Davidson and was part of the team’s memorable Elite Eight run in 2008. He left the school owning several records and is still Wild Cats’ all-time leading scorer. Curry’s college stats included 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

After junior year with Davidson, Curry declared for the 2009 NBA Draft, where the Golden State Warriors took him with the seventh overall pick. He would go on to win four NBA titles and two NBA MVPs while becoming the greatest shooter in the history of the league.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is now officially the best three-point shooter in NBA history. In a 105-96 win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, Curry broke Hall of Famer Ray Allen’s career record of 2,973 made threes, and emerged on the top of NBA’s All-Time list.

Curry entered the game with 2,972 career three-pointers and needed just two to claim the record. He tied the record early in the game before making the record-breaking three with 7:33 left to play in the first period.

Curry didn’t stop there and went on to add to the record by making three more shots from the deep and getting his career total to 2,977. The 33-year-old All-Star finished the game with 22 points, three assists, and three rebounds.

What makes Curry’s record impressive is that he needed far fewer attempts and games to get there. Allen set his record throughout 1,300 games and needed 7,429 attempts.  Cury, on the other hand, did it in 789 games and with 526 attempts less.

“It was a special moment, for sure, that I appreciate and I’ll remember for the rest of my life, in terms of what it means to me to pass Ray,” Curry said after the game. “Him and Reggie [Miller], guys I’ve looked up to coming into the game. Definitely special.”

Stephen Curry’s record will most likely stand for a long time, and there is a question if it will ever be broken considering that he is still far from over with his NBA career. The only other active players in the top 10 of the NBA All-Time list in made three-pointers are James Harden and Damien Lillard. Harden is fourth with 2,509 made threes, while Lillard has 2,119 at tenth.

Steph Curry has just broken the NBA record for most made threes in a month. In a 117-113 win against the Sacramento Kings, the Golden State Warriors superstar hit seven three-pointers, bringing his April total up to 85 and counting. The previous record was held by the Brooklyn Nets’ James Harden, who hit 82 threes in November 2019 while with Houston.

It’s hard to find anyone who isn’t in awe of Curry. His coach, Steve Kerr, was at a loss for words when he tried to describe his talent: “I don’t know what else to say. The shot-making is just unbelievable and mind-boggling, but I’ve used those phrases already.”

Curry’s longtime teammate Draymond Green had this to say: “Incredible, man. The rim is about the size of an ocean, literally. A couple of those ones he hit tonight, it’s incredible. The way he’s leading us, it’s been incredible to watch. His scoring is just a byproduct of that.”

But perhaps the most interesting recollection of it all came from the mouth of the man himself. When asked what goes through his mind when he’s shooting, Curry responded: “When you’re in this type of rhythm, nothing.”

According to Curry, the less you’re thinking, the better: “Just trying to be in the moment as much as possible. When you’re missing, that’s when you start thinking about mechanics, you start thinking about other stuff, those thoughts creep in your head. But when you’re in a flow, in rhythm, there is not much going on upstairs. It’s nice.”

Curry’s incredible game also caused Warriors fans to chant “MVP” during the game against the Kings. And considering the fact that he’s averaging over 38 points a game on 47% three-point shooting this month, leading his team to seven wins out of their last nine games—we’re not surprised in the slightest.

Despite his Golden State Warriors struggling in 2020-21, star point-guard Steph Curry continues to show why he has two MVP awards to his name. In a tough matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, Curry scored 41 points to give his team an important win in a race for the play-in spot.

Before meeting the Bucks, the Warriors were on a three-game losing streak and had just one win in their last eight games. It appeared that this trend would continue as Golden State entered the final four minutes of the contest with a 10-point deficit.

After Kelly Oubre Jr. made a three-pointer to cut into the Bucks’ lead, Curry, who had poured in 30 points by then, got the Warriors within reach. The 33-year-old sharpshooter scored five points, including a 29-foot three-pointer, on back-to-back possessions and set up a thrilling finish.

With 30 seconds on the clock, Milwaukee’s Jrue Holiday grabbed an offensive rebound after Pat Connaughton’s three-point attempt and scored a layup to give his team a 121-120 advantage. On the other end, Oubre went to the free-throw line after Brook Lopez’s foul and made it 121-122 for the Warriors.

The Bucks had 7.7 seconds to score, but the Warriors’ defense managed to come through. Andrew Wiggins first blocked Khris Middleton’s three-point attempt, and then Connaughton couldn’t get a good shot despite an offensive rebound in the paint.

Steph Curry was the man of the moment on Tuesday night with 41 points, six rebounds, and two assists. He shot 14-21 from the field, including 5-10 on three-pointers.

Holiday headlined the Bucks’ box score, scoring 29 points with five assists, while Middleton added 28 points and seven assists.

The win now has the Warriors at No. 10 in the Western Conference with a 24-27 record and 1.5 games ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans. The Bucs are No. 3 in the East, sitting 2.5 games behind the leading Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.

Golden State Warriors two-time MVP Stephen Curry was injured last night in a game against the Houston Rockets. Although his team showed a strong front with a 108-94 victory, they obviously had the injury on their mind as well after the game.

The injury took place at the end of the third quarter, when Curry rose up to take a three-pointer. He missed the shot, and then found himself having trouble finding his balance on the way down. He could be seen looking for the scorer’s table to help support him, but found nothing in return. He ended up falling hard on his tailbone, which caused him to writhe in pain.

He was eventually able to get up and walk, but was forced to leave the game for good. Thankfully his team was able to eke out a win regardless. Up until that point, Curry had put up a strong 18 points and eight assists, although he only shot 2-11 from three-point range.

Team officials still don’t know how long Curry will be out for, but head coach Steve Kerr doesn’t seem to be too worried, as he told The Athletic’s Anthony Slater:

“No idea if he’ll play in Memphis [on Friday],” Kerr said, via The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. “But he seems to feel like he’ll be fine in the next week or so. We’ll see. Don’t take that to mean he’s out a week. He could be back practicing tomorrow, for all I know.”
