]]>According to the official statement, Blackmon’s deal runs through 2022 and contains a club option for 2023. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.
“We are grateful to have agreed to a contract extension with Tristan that will keep him with us for the foreseeable future,” – said LAFC’s general manager John Thorrington. “Tristan has shown great progress over these last two years, which leaves us incredibly excited for his bright future here at LAFC.”
Blackmon proved valuable for LAFC in 2019 thanks to his versatility. He played both as a center back and right back and contributed one goal and four assists in 15 games as a starter.
Since being taken 3rd overall in 2018 SuperDraft, Tristan Blackmon played in 29 games for LAFC over the course of two seasons. He also spent time with Phoenix Rising on two separate loan stints.
