MLB Schedules Game At “Field of Dreams”

Approaching the 30th anniversary of the classic baseball movie Field of Dreams, MLB has announced that they will schedule a game at the film’s location in Dyersville, Iowa in 2020. The Yankees are set to play against the White Sox, a fitting match considering the movie was made featuring the famous 1919 “Black Sox” scandal team.

“If you build it they will come,” is the famous line from the movie, and obviously the field will not be built directly on the famous site, but right next to it. The stadium is expected to hold 8,000 fans and pay homage to the old Comiskey Park, the home of the 1919 controversial White Sox team who “threw” the world series by losing on purpose and were paid off by gamblers.

Tickets are expected to go on sale in the coming months, and being that no games have ever been played in Iowa, or at the site of a famous movie, they are expected to be in high demand. Thousands of people visit the site of the movie every year, taking famous pictures on the bench or in the cornstalks by the outfield.

After games in the past few years in Japan, Mexico, and London, MLB has shown that they are investing a lot of time and money into promoting baseball in different locations around the globe. Despite not being in an exotic location overseas, this game will be highly entertaining and will be a great experience for every baseball fan to watch.
