Brooklyn Nets teammates Ben Simmons and T.J. Warren both picked up knee injuries in the Nets’ 130-122 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night.

Simmons, who has missed 11 games to date this season due to multiple injury setbacks, left the game in the third quarter after what was a disappointing night for him. He went 0-for-3 with seven assists, one rebound, and three turnovers before leaving the court.

Forward T.J. Warren departed the game midway through the fourth quarter when he suffered a left knee contusion. Nets coach Jacque Vaughn said after the game that it remains unclear whether Simmons and Warren would be in need of an MRI scan following their injuries.

Warren and Simmons’ injuries are the latest in an extended list of injury setbacks for the Nets this season. Star forward Kevin Durant remains unavailable for at least a few more weeks as he continues to battle an MCL sprain in his right knee, while Seth Curry was unavailable for the Pistons game after he experienced right knee soreness.

It remains unclear whether Simmons or Warren would be available for the Nets’ next outing against the New York Knicks.

The Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons has continued his less-than-promising return to the court on Thursday night when he was ejected from the Nets’ 117-112 loss to the Phoenix Suns after just 18 minutes.

Having missed out on 11 games so far this season due to injury setbacks, Simmons was ejected due to arguing with referee Eric Lewis. With just 8:47 left in the third quarter, Simmons was called out by Lewis for what was his fifth foul of the game.

Nets coach Jacque Vaughn expressed his concerns over Simmons’ conduct during the game as well as his struggle to recover his form. “We need him to be productive, and that is without the fouls,” Vaughn explained. “That is helping us rebound the basketball. That is playing with poise and composure. That is pushing the pace for us.”

When questioned about his on-court antics, Simmons refused to go into detail, instead choosing to remain silent out of fear of picking up a fine. So far this season, Simmons has averaged 7.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.

The Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons was ruled out shortly before Sunday night’s 112-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder due to back soreness.

While all of the Nets players aside from the injured Kevin Durant emerged fit from Saturday’s training session, coach Jacque Vaughn reminded that Simmons’ back problems are tricky to navigate and easily aggravated.

“He went through warmups, felt some tightness,” Vaughn commented. “So that was the report I had, and then he was a late scratch. He’ll be on the trip with us, so hopefully, it’s one game.”

The Nets are about to embark on a five-game road trip starting with a game against the San Antonio Spurs. While the team sits second in the Eastern Conference, the Nets will have to cope without Simmons nor key player Durant in the squad.

Simmons has missed 11 games this season as a result of various injuries, including when he needed time to recover after undergoing back surgery during the offseason. His numerous injury concerns have prevented him from finding consistency this season. Simmons grabbed 13 assists and nine rebounds during his last appearance during the 109-98 loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday.

The Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is expected to be sidelined for a month with an isolated MCL sprain of his right knee, league sources confirmed. The Nets announced Durant’s injury on Monday, adding that the forward’s injury situation would be reevaluated in two weeks.

Durant picked up his injury during the third quarter of the Nets’ 102-101 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday night when Heat player Jimmy Butler fell back onto Durant’s knee after his shot was blocked by Ben Simmons. While Durant got up after a few seconds and appeared to attempt to play on, the Nets called a time-out 30 seconds later, during which Durant was taken out of the game.

In January 2021, Durant injured the MCL in his left knee, leading to him missing six weeks of action. He also missed over a month in 2017 due to a sprained MCL and a tibial bone bruise.

Durant will leave a big gap in the Nets’ roster during his absence, having averaged 30 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists this season, thereby being included in the conversation for this season’s MVP.

The Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons will miss at least three more games as he attempts to recover from a left lateral upper calf strain. The swingman has already missed six games this season due to left knee soreness.

Nets coach Jacque Vaughn confirmed that an MRI revealed a new knee issue for Simmons. “It’s the knee, but the back of the knee,” Vaughn stated after the Nets’ 107-113 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. “He was grabbing his knee during the game and said he needed to come out. It ended up being the back of the knee, so it’s the upper part of the calf.”

Simmons left Monday’s 102-109 win over the Orlando Magic early after suffering pain derived from what appeared to be the same knee issue. This comes after the player underwent back surgery during the offseason.

Joining Simmons on the sidelines is Yuta Watanabe, who will miss at least another week as he continues to battle a right hamstring strain. Having last played on November 20, Watanabe’s hopes of a smooth recovery were dashed when an MRI on Monday revealed results “consistent” with the first test.

This comes after coach Jacque Vaughn described the 26-year-old player as day-to-day after the player experienced discomfort in his left knee during the Nets’ 109-102 win over the Orlando Magic on Monday.

Simmons had to leave the game after experiencing pain in his left knee; the latest flare-up in what has been an ongoing knee problem for the player. Wednesday’s clash with the Wizards will be the seventh game that Simmons has missed this season through injury.

“We’ve got to play smaller—he’s one of our bigs out there,” teammate Kevin Durant commented when asked about changes that will have to be made to the team in Simmons’ absence. “So I thought Coach did a good job of trying to pick out the small lineup on the fly. We got to play a little faster, and I think we all got to do a good job of gang rebounding, doing the little stuff when he’s not out there.”

Yuta Watanabe also remains unavailable for the Wizards game as he continues to battle a right hamstring strain.

So I’m feeling great”, Simmons explained, adding, “I’ll be in tonight. I think I’ve got like 20 minutes.”

Simmons missed the past four NBA games due to experiencing soreness in his left knee. The Australian player underwent an MRI last week, but while the test came back clean, he needed to get his knee drained and was unable to play in the Nets’ first two road games of the season.

With an average of 6.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 7.3 assists in six games, Simmons attributed his slow start to the season to the knee injury along with his rehabilitation after undergoing back surgery during the offseason.

The 26-year-old player claims that the knee injury could be connected to his back injury, adding that he will continue to work on recovering from both injuries.

The Brooklyn Nets are in the process of finalizing a deal to hire Ime Udoka as the team’s new head coach, sources revealed to ESPN. The agreement is set to be concluded as early as Wednesday.

While the Nets are not seeking draft compensation for the suspended Boston Celtics coach, there are further discussions to be had before the deal can be concluded by the parties involved.

Brooklyn is looking to Udoka to improve on recent results and revive what has been a reeling franchise riddled by internal turmoil; issues that led to the dismissal of former coach Steve Nash. Currently, the Nets have a 2-6 record this season, putting them third from the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

Previously an assistant at the Nets under Nash during the 2020-21 season, Udoka served as head coach of the Boston Celtics for the 2021-22 season before he was suspended before training camp due to what was defined as an improper relationship with a subordinate. Despite his suspension, the Celtics have not stood in the way of Udoka seeking out another job.

Udoka enjoyed a prosperous season with the Celtics, leading them to the NBA Finals.

Brooklyn Nets governor Joe Tsai expressed his support for his front office staff in a Twitter post. This comes after star Kevin Durant told Tsai that he would have to choose between the player and the Nets’ general manager coaching staff.

According to sources close to the issue, Tsai met with Durant in London to discuss the player’s future. Durant is still insistent on moving away from the Nets after submitting a trade request on June 30. These developments come one year after the 33-year-old player signed an extension with the team.

With four years and $198 million left on his contract, the Nets can be patient when it comes to finding the best trade deal for Durant.

After joining the Nets in 2019, Durant’s tenure with the team has been riddled with issues. The player sat out the entire 2019-20 season with an Achilles tendon tear, during which time fellow new signing DeAndre Jordan was traded after a brief stint with the Nets.

Last season, Durant averaged 29.9 points in 55 games, in addition to leading the United States Men’s National Team to Olympic gold.

The Brooklyn Nets are nowhere near where they imagined they would be at the start of the 2021-22 NBA season. Instead of fighting for the top of the Eastern Conference, the Nets are currently holding onto the 10th spot and place in the Play-In tournament.

Speaking about his team’s struggles on Monday, superstar Kevin Durant said he believes the Nets’ shortcomings this season result from the knee injury he has been dealing with.

“To be honest, I feel like our season was derailed by my injury,” Durant said. “So I’m not looking at it like we’re just not a good basketball team.”

Durant was an early MVP candidate at the start of the season but suffered a sprained MCL in mid-January. The injury sidelined him for almost two months, causing the Nets to slip in the standings.

The 33-year-old player added that things would be different if he and his All-Star teammate Kyrie Irving were able to play. Irving was limited to away games for the better part of the year due to New York City’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

It’s like there wasn’t a lot of continuity with me and Kyrie [Irving] out of the lineup, that’s just what it is,” he explained. “When we’re all on the floor together I like what we got.”

When healthy, Kevin Durant was one of the best basketball players on the planet. He averaged 30.1 points per game on 52.4 percent shooting while also adding 7.3 rebounds and career-high 6.1 assists per game.
