Brooks was called for a flagrant foul 2 only 17 seconds into the third quarter when he swiped his left hand into LeBron James’ groin area. “I ain’t talking,” Brooks told reporters following his team’s loss.

This is the second postseason ejection that Brooks has incurred in his career; the first being during Game 2 of last season’s Western Conference semifinals when he injured Golden State’s Gary Payton II.

When asked about what disciplinary action he believes should be taken against Brooks, LeBron James simply stated that he has no say on the matter as he is not a part of the decision-making committee.

By losing to the Lakers on Saturday night, the Grizzlies now find themselves trailing 2-1 to the Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Currently in his third year with the team, Bane has delivered a stellar performance on the court this season, averaging career-high figures of 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. Averaging 3.8 three-pointers per game, Bane ranked fifth in the NBA for three-point shooters. He has also achieved a career-best of 45.1% of his long-range attempts.

The shooting guard’s injury comes at an inopportune time for the Grizzlies, particularly since power forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. is set to make his debut for Memphis. After declining the $17.6 million option, Valanciunas will become a free agent. He will have the ability to test the waters as a free agent for the first time in his career. Before being traded to Memphis, the 27-year-old had spent the first 6.5 seasons of his career with the Raptors.
