The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly traded their standout corner L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans. Sneed is expected to sign a long-term extension with the Titans once the move is finalized.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Titans gave up a 2025 third-round pick in exchange for Sneed, while the two teams also swapped seventh-round picks in this year’s draft.

Since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Chiefs, Sneed established himself as one of the best corners in the league. His best campaign came in 2022, when he had 108 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, 11 passes defended, and three forced fumbles.

After a solid outing in 2023, which included 78 tackles, two interceptions, and 14 passes defended, Sneed was set to hit the free agency. The Chiefs were unable to sign Sneed to a new deal, prompting them to place a non-exclusive franchise tag on the Louisiana Tech product.

In recent weeks, the Chiefs made it clear to the rest of the NFL that Sneed was available, but their asking price of a second-rounder proved to be too high for interested parties. The Titans ended up swooping in with a less-desirable offer but one that still managed to push the deal over the finishing line.

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII to claim back-to-back Super Bowl championships. They are the first team to win two Super Bowls in a row since the New England Patriots did it in 2004 and 2005.

This is the fourth Super Bowl title for the Chiefs in franchise history. They have now made four Super Bowl trips and hoisted three Vince Lombardi trophies in the past five years.

The Chiefs needed some magic from their quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was named the Super Bowl LVIII MVP, to get to the promised land.

After the game went to overtime, being tied 19-19 through the first four quarters, the 49ers managed to get a field goal on the board to claim a 19-22 lead. Mahomes then orchestrated a 13-play drive, which included a fourth-down conversion, that was capped off with a 3-yard touchdown pass to wideout Mecole Hardman as the time expired.

“Our mindset was: Go win the game right here,” Mahomes said. “Once we got that ball — we fell short in regulation, we’re not going to do that again. We’re going to go out there and win the game.”

Mahomes completed 34 out of 46 passes while throwing for 333 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 66 yards on nine carries. Tight end Travis Kelce had nine catches for 97 yards, while kicker Harrison Butker went 4-of-4 on field goal attempts, including a 57-yarder.

For the 49ers, this marks another crushing defeat in the Super Bowl. They also faced the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV, had a lead for most of the game, and still lost.

Despite an up-and-down regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs showed once again that they are at their best when it matters the most. The Chiefs got a 17-10 win over the favored Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday to clinch their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years.

The Chiefs opened the game by scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions and followed that up with a field goal to end the first half with a 17-7 lead.

The Chiefs’ defense took the driving seat in the second half, making key plays to keep the Ravens in check. Corner L’Jarius Sneed first saved a touchdown by punching out the ball from the hands of Baltimore’s wideout Zay Flowers as he was about to reach the endzone.

Veteran safety Deon Bush followed that up by intercepting Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson in the red zone to keep the Chiefs with a two-possession advantage with less than seven minutes left on the clock.

The Ravens managed to score a field goal late in the game but never got the ball back as the Chiefs ran down the clock and launched a huge celebration.

“You don’t take it for granted,” said Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes after the game. “You never know how many you’re going to get to or if you’re going to get to any. So it truly is special just to do it with these guys after what we’ve been through all season long. Guys coming together, it really is special. But I told them, ‘The job’s not done.’ Our job now is to prepare ourselves to play a good football team in the Super Bowl and try to get that ring.”

The Kansas City Chiefs will now face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl LVIII. It marks the rematch of the Super Bowl LIV, which the Chiefs won 31–20 to claim their first title in five decades.

The Kansas City Chiefs feel like the referees have robbed them out of a win against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and they are not afraid to speak their minds. Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid publicly criticized the officials for a later offensive offside call that nullified a touchdown for the lead.

With just over a minute left on the game clock, the Chiefs found themselves at Buffalo’s 49-yard line, chasing a three-point deficit. Mahomes got the ball out of the shotgun and made a deep pass to star tight end Travis Kelce for 25 yards. Instead of getting down, Kelse threw a lateral to wideout Kadarius Toney, who walked into the end zone unscathed.

But before the Chiefs could celebrate, the referees nullified the play and flagged Toney for offside. Kansas City’s offense then lost the ball on downs, and the Bills simply ran down the clock to get a 20-17 win.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Mahomes said that the referees should have warned Toney for being offside or just let the play stand.

“It’s tough. Lost for words. It’s tough, “said Mahomes. “Regardless if we win or lose, just the end of another game and we’re talking about the refs. It’s just not what we want for the NFL and for football.”

Reid also expected a warning and called the entire situation.

“It’s a bit embarrassing for the National Football League for that to take place,” he said.

The loss to the Bills now means that the Chiefs lost three out of their last four games. They are still at the top of the AFC West but remain just one game ahead of the surging Denver Broncos.

The Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt stood by his team’s decision to trade Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. This comes as the Chiefs and the Dolphins are set to face each other in Germany on Sunday, the first time that Hill will face his former side.

“I think that was a trade that worked out well for both parties,” Hunt commented. “Obviously, Tyreek is an incredible player and has done very well in his time with the Dolphins.”

Hill has proven to be an impactful player for the Dolphins, fitting in seamlessly with head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense since his arrival. The wide receiver set franchise records of 119 receptions and 1,710 yards for Miami in 2022. Having already surpassed 1,000 yards this season, Hill is on course to break the league’s single-season mark with the Dolphins sitting atop the AFC East and closing in on a playoff berth.

The Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton is expected to be sidelined for six weeks, sources claimed on Monday. The 23-year-old player is set to undergo surgery on his dislocated wrist, which he injured during the Chiefs’ 31-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday when he tackled Chargers’ Keenan Allen in the fourth quarter.

During his absence, the Chiefs are expected to replace Bolton with Drue Tranquill, who filled in for him when he was absent for three games earlier in the season with an ankle injury. Tranquill currently leads the Chiefs with 37 tackles this season and also has 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Since being picked in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Bolton has become a prominent member of the Chiefs’ roster, leading the team in tackles over the past two seasons. He achieved a career-high 180 tackles last season and is sixth on the team this season with 28.

The New York Jets are reportedly trading wideout Mecole Hardman to the Kansas City Chiefs. The move will mark Hardman’s return to the place where he spent his first four years in the NFL.

The trade will see the Jets sending Hardman and a seventh-round selection in 2025 to Kansas City while receiving a 2025 sixth-rounder in return.

The Jets signed Hardman to a one-year, $4 million contract in the offseason, hoping he can be a deep-threat weapon for their offense. However, the 25-year-old player never found his fit in New York. He only played 28 offensive snaps and recorded one reception in the first five games while being a healthy scratch in last week’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs have struggled with production from their wide receivers so far in the 2023 campaign and were looking for ways to upgrade the position. Having Hardman could go a long way in addressing that.

Hardman is familiar with the Chiefs system and had a solid production during his first stint with the franchise. In four seasons he spent in Kansas City, he had 151 catches for 2,088 yards and 16 touchdowns. The Georgia product also added 22 catches for 226 yards and two touchdowns, playing a part in two Super Bowl runs.

Star defensive tackle Chris Jones is still holding out for a new contract even though the Kansas City Chiefs are less than a week from playing their first game of the 2023 NFL season. This prompted Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce to make a public plea to Jones.

During a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast, Kelce asked Jones to rejoin the team and said the Chiefs badly need him.

“Chris, can you please come back? You’re really scaring me,” Kelce said. “I don’t get it. You must know something that I don’t know because I just don’t get it. I really want to get another Super Bowl ring with you, brother. This is me bargaining with you to just come back and play football for the Chiefs. Please, we need you. We need you bad.”

It remains to be seen whether Jones gets moved by Kelce’s message, although Chiefs’ fans shouldn’t hold their breath. The 29-year-old Pro Bowler made it clear that he wants a new contract and hinted that he is willing to miss a big chunk of the regular season if that doesn’t happen.

Jones matched his career-high with 15.5 sacks in 2022 while receiving a First-team All-Pro nod. He has one year left on his current deal, which comes with a $20 million annual salary.

The Chiefs are opening the 2023 NFL season with a Thursday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions on September 7.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding a reliable veteran target for their young quarterback Kenny Pickett. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers made a trade with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday that will see them acquire experienced wideout Allen Robinson.

The Steelers will send a seventh-round pick in this year’s draft (No. 234) to the Rams while receiving Robinson and a later seventh-rounder ((No. 251). As part of the deal, the Rams will pay $10.25 million of Robinson’s $15.25 million salary in 2023, while Pittsburgh is on the hook for the remaining $5 million.

The deal is expected to be finalized after Robinson undergoes his medical with the Steelers on Wednesday.

The Rams signed Allen Robinson as a free agent during the 2022 offseason, hoping that the one-time Pro Bowler can help them make another run for the Super Bowl. However, the Rams ended up having a disappointing campaign while Robinson failed to be a difference maker, as the organization expected. He finished the year catching 33 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

Here, the Steelers are taking advantage of the Rams’ rebuilding efforts that saw the LA team already move on from several key players like All-Pro corner Jalen Ramsey. Pittsburgh gets a player that proved he could be a reliable offensive weapon in the past and will provide depth on the WR position for cheap. In the worst-case scenario, the Steelers can move on from him at any point during the season without much consequence.

Is there anything Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes can’t do with the ball? From deep throws to shovel passes and no looks, Mahomes seems to be able to make any and every play on the football field.

Even with only five full seasons as a starter in NFL, Mahomes has produced enough spectacular plays to make it hard for a casual fan to pick their favorite one. For Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid, on the other hand, the answer is quite obvious.

Reid recently made an appearance on Pro Football Talk and was asked to pick out his favorite play by Mahomes. The two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach didn’t think much before picking out a left-handed throw from the Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos in the 2018 season.

Mahomes was making just his fifth start as a pro and faced 3rd&5 with the game on the line and the clock winding down. He lost his protection moments after the ball was snapped and was scrambling to make a play with Denver’s pass rushers breathing down his neck.

As the pressure increased and he was about to be sacked by Von Miller, Mahomes managed to get the ball to wideout Tyreek Hill at the last moment with his non-throwing left hand. The drive was kept alive, and the Chiefs would go on to win the game 27-23.

“I think probably the left-handed throw,” Reid told hosts Mike Florio and Chris Simms. “I mean, it’s one thing to do it and mess around with it in practice. It’s another thing (to) make it a legitimate throw. I mean, with the game on the line.”
