The Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton is expected to be sidelined for six weeks, sources claimed on Monday. The 23-year-old player is set to undergo surgery on his dislocated wrist, which he injured during the Chiefs’ 31-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday when he tackled Chargers’ Keenan Allen in the fourth quarter.

During his absence, the Chiefs are expected to replace Bolton with Drue Tranquill, who filled in for him when he was absent for three games earlier in the season with an ankle injury. Tranquill currently leads the Chiefs with 37 tackles this season and also has 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Since being picked in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Bolton has become a prominent member of the Chiefs’ roster, leading the team in tackles over the past two seasons. He achieved a career-high 180 tackles last season and is sixth on the team this season with 28.
