]]>LeSean McCoy, a star running back who spent years playing against Tom Brady, recently had the opportunity to be on the same team as him when they both won the 2021 Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Here’s what McCoy had to say about Brady’s locker room influence:
“The regular season, he was so serious. And then the playoffs, it was like the Terminator. He was even more serious. And then the championship week he was even more serious. Like, even the coaches have to be on their A-game because the dude demands so much respect. When he’s there, it’s like the championship habits pick up. The championship DNA picks up. And I think when you have a guy like that, you have a chance to win. And I love Belichick, but they’re not the same team without (No.) 12 over there.”
Hearing this insider information, can anyone really doubt the greatness of Tom Brady?

]]>McCoy reportedly inked a one-year deal with the Bucs, while the financial terms remain undisclosed.
Although the team still hasn’t confirmed the move, the news was made official by McCoys’ agent Drew Rosenhaus.
“He’s very excited to play with established vets like Brady and Gronk in trying to win another championship,” Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
LeSean McCoy spent 2019 with Kansas City Chiefs, being part of the team’s Super Bowl run and winning his first career ring. McCoy, who has six Pro Bowl appearances and was selected to NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, also played with Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills.
With Buccaneers, McCoy is expected to provide depth and veteran leadership at the running back position. Aside from starter Ronald Jones, the rest of the team’s core includes Raymond Calais, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Dare Ogunbowale, and T. J. Logan. Calais and Vaughn are rookies, while Ogunbowale and Logan only have 29 career rushing yards combined.

]]>McCoy spent 2019 with Kansas City Chiefs, where he managed to win a Super Bowl ring. The 31-year-old, however, had a down year, rushing for 465 yards and one touchdown, while playing just one snap in the playoffs.
As expected, Chiefs didn’t sign McCoy to a new contract after the season ended, and the six-time Pro Bowler is now trying to find a new job.
“I have a couple teams that I’m looking at. I’m just waiting for the right moment,” said McCoy during an appereance on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I want to go to a team that’s a winning franchise that have all the right pieces that’s waiting for me. The teams I’m looking at right now are those teams.”
Over the course of his career, in which he also played with Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills, LeSean McCoy posted six seasons with 1,000+ rushing yards. However, in the recent two seasons combined, he not only didn’t get to that number but also failed to have 1,000 yards combined.
Still, McCoy doesn’t think it was time for him to bow out.
“I really just want to play two more years,” he added. “If it doesn’t go well, just let your body talk to you. My body feels fine.”

The 30-year-old running back suffered a head injury last Sunday as the Bills lost 5-37 to the Colts. On practice, McCoy has been on and off, leaving Marcus Murphy and Chris Ivory as the only certain running backs to play. Running back Taiwan Jones will be out with a neck injury.
On Saturday, Coach Sean McDermott confirmed McCoy was still listed in the concussion protocol but was expected to play on Monday if he will have recovered. The 30-year-old has logged 244 yards this season but is also battling legal troubles involving his ex-girlfriend.
Despite his injury and average performance, the Bills aren’t ready to let McCoy go to another team ahead of Tuesday’s trade-off deadline. McCoy will be a free agent by next summer and up to three teams have made offers to Buffalo. The Bills will only allow McCoy to leave if they get an irresistible deal.
