After a frustrating loss in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors needed a victory in Game 2 in Toronto to avoid falling into a big hole.

They fulfilled their task, escaping with a 109-104 win to knot up the series at 1.

The Warriors took control of the game just after halftime, scoring 18 consecutive points at the beginning of the 3rd quarter to take a commanding lead.

They didn’t look back, putting the game under their control in the fourth quarter and going back to Oracle Arena with an extremely important win.

It was a team effort for the Dubs, who got double-digit points from four of five starters. Klay Thompson led the team with 25 points.

Steph Curry chipped in 23 points as well.

Golden State got a huge boost from the return of DeMarcus Cousins, who put in a big game with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks.

Kawhi Leonard did his best to push the Raptors forward, scoring 34 points, but he ultimately didn’t get enough scoring help from his teammates.

Game 3 of the series will move to Oakland, where the Warriors will host the Raptors in a massive, series-turning game. It will be played on Wednesday night.

The Toronto Raptors’ first ever game in the NBA Finals couldn’t have gone much better. The first Finals game to ever be held outside of the United States was won by the hosts, with the upstart Raptors beating the Golden State Warriors by a 118-109 final.

This score gives the Raptors a huge 1-0 lead in the Finals, and put them in a position to make life tough on the back-to-back champions.

Despite the single-digit margin of victory, Toronto led for nearly the entirety of the game and never had their victory in doubt. The Raptors controlled the game and played like a mature, veteran squad despite their inexperience in the Finals.

Even more amazingly, the Raptors’ win was buoyed by an excellent performance by unheralded center Pascal Siakam. The 25-year-old Cameroonian center recorded a career-high total of 32 points on 14-17 shooting from the field. The Warriors had no answer for Siakam, who finished with 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks, in the paint.

The Raptors were also led by Kawhi Leonard, who scored 23 points and grabbed 8 boards. Marc Gasol also lent a hand with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Golden State was unavailable to capitalize on a strong performance from Steph Curry, who scored 34 points. The Warriors appeared to miss Kevin Durant’s scoring output sorely.

The Warriors will have to react quickly in Game 2 on Sunday night if they want to avoid falling into a 2-0 series hole.

Despite playing without injured superstar Kevin Durant, the Warriors were able to win four consecutive games to advance to play in the finals yet again.

Golden State finished the job with a 119-117 overtime win at the Moda Center In Portland on Monday.

Despite having swept the series, Golden State actually spent more time trailing Portland in the series than they did with a lead. Their resilience and big performances from Steph Curry and Klay Thompson gave them the edge, though, as they were able to pull off a clean series sweep.

Curry turned in a masterful performance on Monday, scoring 37 points in the Dubs’ Game 4 win.

The Milwaukee Bucks took an early 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 108-100 home win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

The Fiserv Forum was rocking as they saw the home team take a crucial victory that puts them in the driver’s seat in the series.

The Bucks slowly climbed back after trailing for most of the first three quarters to grab a crucial series-opening victory. Things looked dicey after a strong start by the Raptors, but Milwaukee kept pushing.

Their fourth-quarter comeback was led by an unlikely figure by the name of Brook Lopez.

Lopez scored 13 of his 29 points in the game in the fourth quarter to bring his team back from the edge of defeat.

The veteran center also added 11 rebounds and 4 blocks on the night.

Lopez and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 24 points and racked up 14 rebounds and 6 assists, led the Bucks’ attack against a strong offensive performance from two of Toronto’s key players.

Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry did their best to pull off a Game 1 upset, scoring 31 and 30 respective points, but they came up just short.

The Raptors will look to even up the series at 1 in Game 2 on Friday night in Milwaukee.

After a back-and-forth seven-game battle between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors, it all came down to the last shot.

Good thing for the Raptors, they have a player named Kawhi Leonard who took care of business.

Leonard hit an incredibly difficult fadeaway jumped over the 76ers’ Joel Embiid as time expired to lift Toronto to a 92-90 Game 7 win. Their victory qualifies the Raptors for a date with the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals, with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.

The Raptors hosted the 76ers in the series finale, and the game lived up to its billing. The two teams fought tooth and nail, with several lead changes occurring throughout the second half of the game.

After Embiid tied up the game at 90 after hitting two free throws with only 12 seconds left on the clock, it was clear the the Raptors wanted to get the ball to Leonard for a final shot.

He got it, he made it, and he sent his team on to the next round.

The Scotiabank Arena went berserk, as Toronto advanced to its second conference finals in franchise history.

There, the Raptors will have a tough task as they look to tame Giannis Antentokoumpo and the 1-seeded Bucks.

With their backs against the wall, the Philadelphia 76ers refused to go home without a fight.

The Sixers grabbed a massive victory in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals to force a decisive Game 7. The Raptors were unable to capitalize on an opportunity to end the series and to move on to face the Milwaukee Bucks in the conference finals.

Philadelphia was motivated by a rowdy home crowd at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night. Both fans and the team knew that a loss would put an end to what has been a special season.

There was relatively little drama on Thursday, as Philly led without relinquishing their advantage for the final 39 minutes of the game.

Jimmy Butler led the Sixers with yet another big performance, scoring 25 points and notching 8 assists and 6 rebounds.

All of Philadelphia’s starting five finished in double figures, including Ben Simmons, who scored 21 points on only 13 shot attempts in an ultra-efficient performance. Star center Joel Embiid struggled to score once again, making only 5 of 14 from the field, but he did finish the night with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Kawhi Leonard, once again, led Toronto’s futile effort with 29 points and 12 rebounds.

Now, the two teams will clash in a do-or-die Game 7 which the Raptors will host on Sunday night. A ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals is on the line.

The Milwaukee Bucks got their Eastern Conference semi-final series against the Celtics off on the wrong foot. After losing 112-90 at home, fans and pundits wondered if the Bucks were for real.

After breezing through four consecutive games to win the series in 5 games, the Bucks have put those doubts to rest.

Milwaukee blew out Boston at home by a 116-91 final to win Game 5 and move on to the conference finals. Waiting for them there will be either the Toronto Raptors or the Philadelphia 76ers.

Try as they might have, Boston had no answer for Milwaukee’s strong team effort on Wednesday night. They suffocated Boston’s offense and offered a balanced scoring attack. On a team that’s often described as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s, Milwaukee proved that they have a deep team will plenty of talent outside of their superstar.

Giannis led Milwaukee in scoring with only 20 points on Wednesday. Fortunately for the Bucks, he had plenty of help.

Guards George Hill, Khris Middleton, and Eric Bledsoe all chipped in 15+ points. Nikola Mirotic also added a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double while playing strong defense inside.

The Celtics just couldn’t do much, with Kyrie Irving leading the team with only 15 points.

The Bucks will now rest up before the Eastern Conference Finals. They’ll have to wait to see whether they’ll face the Raptors or the Sixers there. Toronto currently holds a 3-2 series lead.

Not many people expected it going into the series, but the Western Conference semi-finals between the Warriors and Rockets is now tied up after 4 games.

Houston evened the series after a tight 112-108 win at home against the Golden State Warriors, showing that they have the mettle to push the back-to-back defending NBA Champions to their limits.

James Harden, once again, put his team on his back with a 38 point performance. The bearded slasher shot 17 three-pointers and made 6 of them. It wasn’t his most efficient performance, but it was a typical Harden. He scored in volume and got the job done.

Harden’s barrage was enough to withstand the Warriors’ two-pronged attack of Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. Durant, with 34 points, and Curry, with 30, kept things close all night, but ultimately couldn’t overcome Houston in the game’s final stretch.

Harden got help from Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker, who scored 20 and 17 points, respectively. Tucker also grabbed 10 rebounds, turning in a double-double performance.

Now, with the series tied at 2 apiece, this matchup could go either way.

The two teams will meet for a pivotal Game 5 showdown on Wednesday night in Oakland.

Will the Warriors finally meet their match?

It took four overtimes, 277 total points, and a Herculean effort, but the Portland Trail Blazers claimed victory in Game 3 of the Western Conference semi-finals in the longest game in NBA playoff history.

Never in the history had a longer game been played in the history of the league’s playoffs, an exceptional mark considering the many years during which the NBA has been around.

Portland took home a 140-137 win in a game that was dramatic until the last second.

The Blazers took a 138-136 lead after a Rodney Hood three-pointer with 18 seconds left. However, Portland fouled Denver forward Nikola Jokic in the waning seconds.

The Nuggets’ big man went to the line with a chance to tie the game and made the first shot. However, he missed the second free throw and Portland held a 138-137 lead.

Seth Curry was then fouled and buried two free throws to seal Portland’s dramatic win after sixty-eight minutes of game time.

CJ McCollum led Portland with 41 points, and Damian Lillard also chipped in 28.

Despite missing late free throws, Jokic had a monster game for Denver, scoring 33 points, gathering 18 rebounds, and dishing out 14 assists.

Game 4 will be played on Sunday, with Portland looking to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
