The Miami Dolphins will be without their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for Week 5 game against the New York Jets. With Tagovailoa still being out due to a concussion suffered in a 27-15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Dolphins are forced to turn to veteran Teddy Bridgewater.

According to Miami’s head coach Mike McDaniel, Tagovailoa still hasn’t cleared the concussion protocol and won’t join the team for a trip to New York. However, McDaniel added that Alabama product is “diligently going through the process” and is getting better each day.

Tagovailoa got hurt after taking a hard sack in the second quarter of the Bengals’ game and hitting his head on the ground. He was sent to the hospital shortly after but ended up being discharged the same night.

The Dolphins, who started the season 3-1, are now hoping that Bridgewater can help them stay afloat before Tagovailoa returns. The 29-year-old looked solid coming for Tagovailoa in the Bengals game, throwing for 193 yards and one touchdown in two-quarters of action.

“I can’t be Tua, “said Bridgewater when asked how he feels about replacing Tagovailoa. “I had to learn a lesson when I was in New Orleans. I couldn’t be Drew Brees. So it’s like, as long as I continue to be myself, the guys realize, man, this guy isn’t fake.”

The Miami Dolphins confirmed that their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in a 15-27 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday. Tagovailoa is currently in concussion protocol, and there is no timetable for his return.

During the second quarter of the game against the Bengals, Tagovailoa was sacked by Josh Tupou and hit his head on the ground while coming down. He left the field on a stretcher and was later transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The 24-year-old was discharged on the same night and returned to Miami.

Tua Tagovailoa faced a similar situation in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills when he also hit his head. However, after getting examined by the team doctors, Tagovailoa returned to the field with the Dolphins, saying that he didn’t have concussion symptoms. Despite Miami’s claims, the NFL Players Association asked for a review of the situation.

Tua Tagovailoa had a great start to the 2022 NFL season, throwing for 925 yards and eight touchdowns to lead Miami to wins in the first three games. He had 110 passing yards and an interception before exiting the game against the Bengals.

If Tagovailoa isn’t available for the Dolphins’ Week 5 matchup against the New York Jets, the team will turn over the offense to veteran Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater stepped in for the Bengals games, finishing the contest with 193 passing yards, a TD, and an interception.

The Thursday Night Football clash between the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens was a classic example of what we love about the NFL. Despite entering the game as huge underdogs and having just a 2-7 record to show for it in the first nine weeks, the Dolphins managed to outclass the Ravens and claim a 22-10 upset win.

The big reason for Miami’s win was their defense, which finally started to show signs of life in recent weeks. The Dolphins simply didn’t allow Baltimore’s star quarterback Lamar Jackson to get comfortable in the game, blitzing him non-stop. This included 24 defensive back blitzes, which was most than any signal-caller faced in the past six years. Miami also sacked Jackson four times, intercepted him once, and limited him to just 39 rushing yards on nine carries.

Aside from doing all this, Miami’s defense also got on the scoreboard. Star corner Xavien Howard forced a fumble by wideout Sammy Watkins, recovered it, and then took the ball 49 yards to the endzone.

The Dolphins’ offense did enough to secure the win even if they had a QB switch early in the third quarter. After veteran Jacoby Brissett hurt his knee, head coach Brian Flores sent second-year signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa on the field.

Tagovailoa, who was dealing with a middle finger fracture in recent weeks, ended up playing well enough to convince Flores he should stay under center for the remainder of the game. The Alabama product ended up completing eight out of his 13 pass attempts while throwing for 158 yards and scoring a touchdown via QB sneak.

The Dolphins now improved to a 3-7 record and sit in third place in the AFC East. The Ravens, on the other hand, are still leaders in AFC North with a 6-3 record but have the Pittsburgh Steelers at 5-3 breathing down their neck.

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly closer than ever to making a trade with the Houston Texans and acquiring Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson. But this isn’t stopping the head coach Brian Flores from publicly endorsing the team’s current starter Tua Tagovailoa.

Speaking with reporters on Friday, Flores declined to comment on the Watson rumors and instead said the Dolphins are happy with the QB they already have.

“I don’t really get into rumors. Tua is our quarterback,” Flores said. “We’re happy with the quarterback, our quarterback situation. I’ll leave it at that, which I’ve said multiple times.”

Miami has been the number one favorite to land Watson ever since the star QB asked for a trade from the Texans. Still, the Dolphins played it slowly as Houston set a huge asking price that no other NFL team was ready to meet. Late, however, the two sides have managed to find a common ground, and reports say that the deal might be finalized as soon as the end of the week.

The Dolphins have selected Tua Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick in 2020 with intentions to make him the franchise’s quarterback of the future. However, Miami doesn’t seem to be convinced that Tagovailoa can actually become this after having an opportunity to see him at work.

The biggest knock about Tagovailoa is his durability, considering he struggled with injuries both in his rookie year and now in his sophomore campaign. He also failed to step up in big moments and is yet to produce a statement game in the NFL.

After dropping the last four games, the Miami Dolphins are eager to see their second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back on the field. This might happen as soon as this week, as Tagovailoa made a return to practice for the first time since mid-September.

Tagovailoa spent the last three weeks on the injured reserve list dealing with fractured ribs. He suffered the injury in the Week 2 loss against the Buffalo Bills.

Following Tagovailoa’s practice on Wednesday, Miami’s head coach Brian Flores told reporters that the 2020’s number five pick will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6, barring an unexpected setback.

“We’re excited to get him back. I know he’s excited to be out there,” Flores said. “We’ll take it one day at a time, still. We’re moving enough in the right direction that he’ll be out there. He’ll have the opportunity to practice and hopefully play in the game.”

After splitting time at QB with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in his rookie year, Tua Tagovailoa entered 2021 as the Dolphins’ undisputed starter under center. Tagovailoa threw for 202 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Week 1 win over the New England Patriots and then completed one pass for 13 yards against the Bills before exiting the game.

The Dolphins turned to veteran Jacoby Brissett in Tagovailoa’s absence and ended up suffering four straight losses despite the veteran’s solid performances.

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores announced that offensive coordinator Chan Gailey has resigned from the team and won’t be back with the organization next season.

Gailey previously retired in 2017 after coaching with the New York Jets for two years but decided to return and take the Miami offensive coordinator job this year.

Gailey had a history with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was slated to be the Dolphins’ starting quarterback at the beginning of the season. Gailey coached Fitzpatrick when they were both members of the Buffalo Bills from 2010 to 2012.

A new offensive coordinator in 2021 will probably be the best thing for the Dolphins, since rookie Tua Tagovailoa, who Miami took with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 draft, did not look very effective in Gailey’s scheme, which was obviously designed with Fitzpatrick in mind.

Despite missing the playoffs, Miami finished the season with 10 wins and appears to be a team on the rise.

Finding the right offensive coordinator to tap into Tagovailoa’s potential and mold him into a true franchise quarterback will be the biggest priority this offseason for the Dolphins, along with putting together a good supporting cast for Tagovailoa on the offensive side of the ball.

The honeymoon is officially over for Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after winning his first three games as a starter.

The young quarterback was taken out and benched by head coach Brian Flores in the fourth quarter of the Dolphins 20-13 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Tagovailoa was unable to get anything going on offense, which forced Flores to make a move and play veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in order to provide the team with a spark. Fitzpatrick was able to do so in his first series, leading a touchdown drive to make it a one-score game.

However, Fitzpatrick ended up throwing an interception in the end zone, which sealed the win for the Broncos.

Coach Flores confirmed that Tagovailoa was taken out of the game because of his performance, but added that the starting job is still his and that Tagovailoa will be the Dolphins starter next week against the winless New York Jets.

Fitzpatrick started the season as the team’s No. 1 quarterback, but was replaced by Tagovailoa four weeks ago, despite a two-game winning streak. Tagovailoa has shown promise, leading the team to three straight wins before Sunday’s loss.

The Dolphins are currently 6-4 and are trying to make a playoff appearance for the first time since 2016.

While Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa didn’t turn any heads with his performance on Monday, he was able to walk away with a win in his first NFL game thanks to a team win against the Los Angeles Rams.

After throwing a nice goal-line slant to DeVante Parker for his first NFL touchdown, the Dolphins defense and special teams stepped in to do the rest and secure an easy 28-17 over the favored Rams.

The Dolphins defense looked as if it had completely figured out the Rams offense, wreaking havoc on Rams quarterback Jared Goff, who had four turnovers in the first half. Goff threw two interceptions and had two fumbles, one that was scooped up and run in for a defensive touchdown.

The Dolphins defense brought pressure on 21 of Goff’s 63 dropbacks and kept him off balance all night. Miami’s special teams also joined the party, with punt returner Jakeem Grant scoring an 88-yard touchdown.

Sunday marked the first time that the Dolphins team had a passing, rushing, special-teams, and defensive touchdown in a single game since 1993.

Tagovailoa did a good job of not forcing the ball and playing mistake-free football in order to preserve the lead and cruise to a fairly easy first career win.

The Miami Dolphins are going to make a surprising change at quarterback.

Despite being 3-3 and only one game behind the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East division lead, the Dolphins decided that they are going to pull veteran quarterback Ryan Ftizpatrick in favor of their first round pick.

Tagovailoa is expected to start against the Los Angeles Rams on November 1. The Dolphins have a bye this week, after which they will be handing the offense over to their quarterback of the future.

Many expected Fitzaptrick to start the entire year so that Tagovailoa could learn from the 16-year veteran. Tagovailoa is also coming off a serious hip injury that he suffered during his final year at Alabama.

Tagovailoa came in and saw his first NFL action on Sunday during the Dolphins blowout victory over the New York Jets. But he only took five snaps and threw just two passes against the Jets.

Fitzpatrick has been playing very well for Miami, completing 70.1% of his passes, which is a career-high for him. He has thrown for 10 touchdowns and 1,525 yards over six games.

According to Tagovailoa, Fitzpatrick has been a very supportive mentor for him since joining the team in the offseason.

Tagovailoa was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 draft.
