Tottenham Hotspur has completed the signing of Alex Morgan, the club announced on Saturday. The 31-year-old player is expected to arrive at the North London club on a one-year contract once her visa is processed.

Morgan will arrive at the club after representing Orlando Pride for four years. One of those years was spent on loan at French club Lyon, with whom Morgan won the domestic league, cup, and Champions League treble.

In addition, Morgan has enjoyed a dazzling career on the international stage, making 169 appearances and scoring 107 goals for the United States national team.

Morgan has won two world cup titles for the United States; in 2015 and 2019. She has also claimed two CONCACAF Women’s Championship titles.

Also included in her extensive list of accolades is an array of individual honors. She has been named the CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year on four occasions and also been crowned US Soccer Athlete of the Year twice, in 2012 and 2018.

Morgan is a major addition to the Tottenham Hotspur team, who started their Super League campaign last week with a 1-1 draw to West Ham. Spurs are also due to face Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter finals.

The North London side, which finished seventh in the league last season, expects a vast improvement this season with Morgan in their arsenal.
