Veteran wideout Antonio Brown’s spell with the New England Patriots in 2019 only lasted one game. But even this was enough to make a strong impression on the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Browns made a return to Gillette Stadium on Sunday night with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and helped his new team get a 19-17 win by making seven catches for 63 yards. Speaking with reporters after the game, the 33-year-old star was full of praise for the New England organization and even described it as “the best experience” of his life.

“It was the best experience of my life being here,” Brown said. “Bill Belichick [the Pats’ head coach] one of the best coaches, preparing the players on the field and off the field with discipline.”

Brown made a number of other positive comments about Belichick and said it was “amazing” to play for him.

“He’s just so detail-oriented in being able to prepare the players for every situation and making sure you know your opponent as well as he knows,” he added.

Antonio Brown spent less than two weeks with the Patriots, being cut by the franchise for his problematic off-the-field behavior. Brown only suited up for New England in a 43–0 win over the Miami Dolphins and made four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Most NFL players would not be getting a second chance after serving a suspension that included a lot of ugly off-field drama. But most players are not All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Brown is reportedly signing a one-year deal to join future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown is expected to make his debut with the team in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.

Brady was the last quarterback to throw Brown a pass in an NFL game, while both were playing with the New England Patriots last year. Brown will finish serving an eight-game suspension next week.

Brown had a very tumultuous year, being released by both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders due to his erratic behavior. He was then released by the Patriots in Week 2 after sexual assault and rape allegations came to light. He also pleaded no contest to a felony burglary charge this summer and had a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge filed against him after an altercation with a moving truck driver in early 2020.

If he stays healthy and out of trouble, Brown will give Brady another weapon in an offense that is already full of talented pass catchers.

Before being dismissed by the Steelers, Brown was arguably the best receiver in the NFL, averaging 1,524 yards and 11.2 touchdowns over the course of six seasons.

Antonio Brown, one of the best wide receivers in the league just a couple years ago, is currently serving an eight-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

However, the suspension will end after next week, which means that he will be able to sign with a new team after Week 8. And as expected, despite his recent troubles off the field, there are several teams that are very interested in the former star wide receiver.

According to reports, the Seattle Seahawks are the front-runners and will make a strong push to sign Brown. Seattle’s quarterback Russell Wilson was seen working out with Brown in the offseason.

It’s a good situation for Brown as well, who would be stepping into a strong organization and joining a team that is currently undefeated, a Super Bowl contender, and has a quarterback that is currently playing on an MVP level. Seattle also has two other very good receivers, which would allow Brown to get more single coverage than he is used to seeing.

Another possible landing spot for Brown is Baltimore. The Ravens have an MVP quarterback themselves in Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Marquise Brown on the roster, who is Antonio’s cousin.

It appears that the seven-time Pro Bowl wideout Antonio Brown is retiring from football…Again.

Brown went on social media on Monday and, in a series of tweets, hinted that his professional career is over. The 32-year-old player first asked “is it time to walk away” while adding that he’s done “everything in the game.”

In the following post, Brown wrote that “the risk is greater than the reward” and proceeded to thank “everyone who been part of this journey.”

This isn’t the first time that Antonio Brown retired or hinted at ending his career. During the 2019 offseason, Brown threatened to retire if NFL doesn’t allow him to wear his preferred helmet. Then, he announced his retirement after being released by the New England Patriots in September before changing his mind shortly after.

Brown hasn’t been able to land a job since then, with the majority of NFL teams staying away due to his off-the-field issues. Reportedly, Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were interested recently, but neither team made a move.

Brown played only one game in 2019, making an appearance in Week 2 with Pats and catching four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Ever since Tom Brady signed with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rumors circled that veteran wide receiver Antonio Brown might follow in his footsteps. Brady and Brown briefly played together in 2019 with New England Patriots, and rumors say that two players would be interested in a reunion. According to Bucs head coach Bruce Arians, however, this won’t happen.

Arians recently made an appearance on CBS Sports Network’s Tiki and Tierney where he was asked about the possibility of bringing Brown to Tampa Bay.

“Yeah, it’s not gonna happen,” said Arians. “There’s no room. And probably not enough money. But it’s not gonna happen — it’s not a fit here.”

When pressed for further explanation, Arians admitted that the decision is down to the fact that he doesn’t see Brown fitting into the Bucs’ locker room.

“Yeah, I just know him, and — it’s not a fit in our locker room,” – he added.

Antonio Brown had a tremulous 2019 NFL season, which he split between the Raiders and Patriots, but ended up playing just one game in Week 2. Brown spent the rest of the year out of the league after his previous inappropriate off-the-field behavior came to light.

Brown recently expressed his belief that he will play in 2020 and even told the media that he wouldn’t mind catching passes from Brady once again. Following Arians’ recent comments, however, that seems like a longshot.

Just a few hours after Antonio Brown was shockingly released by the Oakland Raiders, a day before their game, reigning Super Bowl champions New England Patriots signed the problematic WR on a 1-year contract worth $15 million with a $9 million signing bonus.

The controversial superstar had a lot of problems since he moved from the Steelers to The Bay, first stating that he won’t play unless he uses his old helmet, but the NFL denied his request twice. Just a day after stating that he is excited to work with his new team mates and apologizing for his behaviors, Brown requested a trade from the Raiders on his Instagram profile after the club voided to pay up his guaranteed fee on his contract. Shortly after that, he had an argument with the GM Mike Mayok, who had fined Brown for $215 thousand, releasing him 7 hours after Antonio’s request.

It didn’t take a long time for Antonio Brown to find a new club and that club is the New England Patriots! They are willing to pair Brown with Tom Brady, giving the 42-year-old x6 Super Bowl winner a powerful weapon on the field.

He is expected to sit out the first game against his former team Pittsburgh.

Antonio Brown’s time with the Oakland Raiders so far has been tremulous to say at least, and it looks it might get even worse. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Raiders intend to suspend Brown after he got into a heated argument with general manager Mike Mayock.

The thing that set off the argument was the fact that Mayock handed Brown a $54,000 fine for the time Pro Bowl wide receiver missed during training camp. This didn’t sit well with the player, who ended up posting Mayock’s letter on social media and sending a subtle message to the organization.

Schefter reports that Brown confronted Mayock about the letter in the team’s facilities, and things got heated really quickly. This eventually made the Raiders’ GM think about further actions and consider suspension. However, despite Mayock’s determination, there is still no official announcement about this which opens the window for two sides to try and work things out in coming days.

The confrontation with his GM is just one of many Antonio Brown’s antics since he joined the Oakland Raiders back in March. In August, Brown suffered a foot injury during a cryotherapy session after not wearing proper footwear, which limited him in practice for the better part of the training camp. He also threatened to retire if the NFL doesn’t allow him to wear his usual helmet, which was deemed unsafe by the new league standards.

New Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown has gotten off to an interesting start to his tenure with his new team, to say the least.

Acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers in an offseason trade, the dynamic wide receiver first revealed that he burned his feet in a cryotherapy session gone wrong before the start of training camp.

His participation at the camp had been limited until he disappeared from Napa Valley on July 30th, citing his unhappiness with the league’s new regulations that prevent him from wearing his preferred helmet. New regulations have established that the Schutt Air Advantage helmet doesn’t meet the safety requirements set by the NFL.

Brown reportedly threatened to retire if the league didn’t allow him to continue wearing his preferred helmet. He cited an inability to properly see the football to make catches as the reason that he doesn’t want to wear any of the new helmet models.

After taking his grievance against the league to an independent arbitrator, Brown found out on Monday that his request to continue using his old helmet had been denied. Despite the reported retirement threats, the veteran receiver took to Instagram to express his disappointment with the decision while expressing excitement to return to training camp at the same time.

Brown is expected to continue rehabbing his injured feet before he’s able to rejoin the Raiders at full capacity.

After a public and high-profile fallout with his now former team, Antonio Brown has found a new home.

The Oakland Raiders have agreed to acquire Brown from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 3rd and a 5th round draft pick.

Brown, one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, demanded a trade after the conclusion of last season due to his unhappiness with team ownership and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, with whom he publicly sparred.

The Raiders have now filled the absence left by Amari Cooper, whose departure in a mid-season trade to the Cowboys left Oakland without a top pass catcher.

Brown, who has been the most productive wide receiver in the league over the past several years, now arrives in Oakland to fill that hole for quarterback Derek Carr and coach Jon Gruden.

The 30-year-old receiver has made the Pro Bowl in each of the past seven seasons. He has also been named an All-Pro selection four times.

Although he was considered to have had a slightly “down” year in 2018, he still caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns, which led the NFL.

Brown is also the highest-paid player at his position in the NFL.

Oakland will owe him $50.1 million over the next three seasons and hope that his performance matches his price tag.
