The post Safety Keanu Neal Joins the Dallas Cowboys for 2021 NFL Season appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Neal previously played with the Atlanta Falcons, spending the first five years of his NFL career with Quinn as his head coach.
According to reports, Neal inked a one-year deal worth $5 million. The entire amount included in the deal is believed to be guaranteed. Dallas confirmed the news on their social media.
Sources close to the organization indicate that the Cowboys could get creative with Neal. While the 25-year-old Neal played safety his entire career, Quinn is reportedly seriously considering lining him up as a weakside linebacker.
This might depend on other moves that Dallas makes in the free agency. They are currently pursuing several more safeties, including Damontae Kazee, who also played under Quinn in the past.
Keanu Neal entered the league in 2016 as the Falcons’ first-round pick. He had an encouraging start to his NFL journey, earning a Pro Bowl selection in his sophomore season, but struggled to remain healthy after.
Neal played only four games in 2018 and 2019 due to ACL and Achilles injuries before bouncing back last season. He finished 2020 with 100 tackles, one interception, and 1.0 sacks.

]]>The world first received this information when Watt himself posted a picture of himself on Twitter with a Cardinals T-shirt. Not long after, the Cardinals themselves posted a Twitter picture of Watt exiting a plane, with the caption: “Home sweet home. Welcome to the team.”
Watt joining Arizona may be a little bit surprising to some, considering the circumstances of which he decided to leave the Houston Texans.
After ten years as a Texan, it seemed that Watt was leaving because he wanted to play for a real contender. By joining the Cardinals, he doesn’t exactly hit the nail on the head in that regard.
To be fair, Arizona is a solid team, and will certainly improve with Watt on their squad. But there are arguably three better teams in their division alone: the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers.
Nevertheless, Watt seems excited and ready to go, as was clear in his statement upon arrival: “I’m excited to get started. Very excited to get started, get to work, get to know the people of Arizona.”

]]>The post Bills LB Matt Milano to Test Free Agency appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>A team source confirmed the news to AP on Friday, saying that Milano’s decision was influenced by the Bills’ inability to make him a competitive offer. Buffalo is expected to have only $3 million available under the projected salary cap for 2021, which is not remotely enough to keep a player of his caliber.
The Bills will most likely create additional space by releasing some players or working out contract restructures. However, they don’t intend to use that money on Milano as they believe their roster has more urgent needs that have to be addressed.
Brandon Beane, Buffalo’s general manager, recently said that the team would like to keep Milano but know chances for that are slim.
“Listen, we want to keep good players,” said Beane. “Matt’s a good player, so we’d love to keep him here. But, again, he’s earned this right, and we’ll just have to see how it plays out.”
Matt Milano will immediately become one of the best linebackers on the market. He has been a reliable starter for the Bills since being selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and should be on the wanted list for most LB-needy teams.
In the previous four years, Milano totaled 273 tackles and six sacks while also contributing with five interceptions, 21 pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

]]>The Titans had been looking for an upgrade on their defensive line as they look to make another deep playoff run in the 2020 season, and the South Carolina native ended up being a perfect fit for Mike Vrabel and his team. They landed on Clowney, signing him to a deal worth $12 million.
Clowney, who made three consecutive Pro Bowls between 2016 and 2018 with the division rival Houston Texans, spent last season playing for the Seattle Seahawks and saw his production decline a bit. The former #1 overall pick recorded only 3 sacks and 31 total tackles in the Pacific Northwest.
The 27-year-old player’s 1-year deal with the Titans will provide him with the perfect opportunity to rebuild his market value while helping out a team that will certainly be glad to have his services in 2020.
It remains to be seen if Clowney will be available for the Titans’ opener next Monday night against the Denver Broncos, but he is expected to join the team in practice this week.

]]>Gordon, who has been suspended six times since the 2013 season for various violations of the league’s personal conduct policy, is currently working to have his indefinite suspension lifted in time for the 2020 season.
The Baylor alum was signed during to the 2019 season by the Seahawks after being put on waivers by the New England Patriots, appearing in a total of 5 games, catching 7 balls for a total of 139 yards before being suspended in November.
Gordon had experienced a comeback season in 2018 with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots, playing in 12 games and accumulating 41 receptions, 737 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns, his best season since 2013.
According to Gordon’s lawyer, the receiver has been working to restore commissioner Roger Goodell’s trust so that he can return to the league and factor in as one of quarterback Russell Wilson’s top receiving threats in the upcoming season.
Until Gordon’s case is resolved, he will wait before joining Seattle at its preseason training camp in preparation for the 2020 season.

]]>Peters, who has spent the past eleven years as an integral part of Philadelphia’s offensive line, remarked earlier this offseason that he would like to continue playing in the league for the foreseeable future. While the Eagles took their time making their decision, they ultimately decided to re-up Peters and plan to play him at guard this upcoming year.
Part of the reason for Philadelphia’s decision was due to the season-ending Achilles tear that Brandon Brooks suffered last month during an offseason training session. Peters is expected to step in and fill the void which Brooks’ injury left on the Eagles’ offensive line.
Peters, who at 38, has a wealth of experience, has been named to nine Pro Bowls in his illustrious career after joining the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2004. His new role with the Eagles will be the first time that he will play regularly as a guard in the NFL, as he had been an offensive tackle previously.
Reports have stated that Peters’ contract for the 2020 season is worth up to $3 million in guaranteed money and contains incentives which could drive its value north of $6 million.

]]>Amendola, a 10-year NFL veteran, joins Detroit after spending the 2018 season with the Miami Dolphins. He started 15 games for Miami last season, catching 59 passes for 575 yards and 1 touchdown.
Amendola broke into the NFL as a practice squad player for the Cowboys and Eagles in 2008 and 2009. He was undrafted out of college at Texas Tech, and finally got his chance to play in the league with the Rams in 2009.
After four seasons with St. Louis, Amendola joined the Patriots from 2013 to 2017, where he spent 4 years as a crucial part of New England’s feared offensive attack.
The undersized wide receiver found a niche in the Patriots offense, becoming a key outlet for QB Tom Brady. There, he won two Super Bowl titles in 2014 and 2017.
Due to Detroit’s desire to add a veteran playmaker to their lineup, they decided to sign Amendola to a one-year, $4.5 deal. He could earn up to $5.75 with incentives.
At 33 years old, it’s almost certain that Amendola won’t be a star for the Lions. However, he will certainly be a stabilizing veteran presence on a young team looking to find its footing.
