The first goal of the match was scored early in the first half, in the 15^th minute by Everton Soares giving Brazil the lead, but Peru managed to equalize in the 44^th minute with Paolo Guerrero’s goal. Shortly after, Gabriel Jesus gave Brazil the lead back scoring another goal.  Finally, after Zambrano fouled Everton, Brazil was awarded a penalty which was a great opportunity that Richarlison took advantage of, taking the score to 3-1. 

This was Brazil’s first title in this championship after 12 years and their ninth time winning Copa America. Also, this was the first victory in a tournament after they won the gold at the 2016 Olympics.
