This year the Copa America provided soccer fans all around the globe an exciting and unpredictable voyage that saw many unexpected outcomes and surprising victories. This weekend Brazil hosted the Copa America final and they managed to keep their record of winning every time they host the competition. The Brazilian team won a strong victory ending the match with a score of 3-1 and becoming Copa America Champions once again.

Fans were able to watch a really aggressive and fierce struggle as the two teams fought to win the title. The first goal of the match was scored early in the first half, in the 15th minute by Everton Soares giving Brazil the lead, but Peru managed to equalize in the 44th minute with Paolo Guerrero’s goal. Shortly after, Gabriel Jesus gave Brazil the lead back scoring another goal.  Finally, after Zambrano fouled Everton, Brazil was awarded a penalty which was a great opportunity that Richarlison took advantage of, taking the score to 3-1.

This was Brazil’s first title in this championship after 12 years and their ninth time winning Copa America. Also, this was the first victory in a tournament after they won the gold at the 2016 Olympics.
