The Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel provided an update on wide receiver Treylon Burks after he was carted off of the field late in the fourth quarter of their 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

Vrabel revealed after the game that Burks was alert and had full use of his extremities. The wide receiver was later seen walking out of the locker room on his own to the team bus, thereby corroborating Vrabel’s account.

Burks went down when attempting to make a deep catch with the ball slipping out of his grasp. He landed hard out of bounds and appeared as if he was unconscious. He was treated by members of both teams’ medical staff and by the time he was loaded onto the stretcher, it appeared as if Burks could wiggle his toes.

The Tennessee Titans are looking to hire Ran Carthon as their new general manager, sources reported to ESPN on Tuesday. Carthon currently serves as the team’s director of player personnel.

Carthon reportedly interviewed for the role with a panel of Titans executives on Friday, with controlling owner Amy Adams-Strunk in attendance.

Prior to becoming director of player personnel two seasons ago, Carthon served as the Titans’ director of pro personnel for five seasons.

During his 15 years of experience, Carthon also spent five seasons as the director of pro personnel with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams and four seasons as a pro scout with the Atlanta Falcons.

The search for a new general manager comes after the Titans decided to dismiss Jon Robinson from the role in November. This comes after the team reached the decision that Robinson had not been leading the Titans in the desired general direction.

In addition to the change in general manager, the Titans are also dealing with the aftermath of Monti Ossenfort’s decision to step down as director of player personnel in order to take a job as the Arizona Cardinals’ new general manager.

The Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill seems “very likely” to be sidelined for the remainder of the season after incurring a right ankle injury, sources confirmed on Wednesday.

Tannehill was injured during the Titans’ 14-17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday when Chargers outside linebacker Khalil Mack landed on Tannehill’s right foot.

Directly after the incident, the Titans’ trainers escorted the quarterback off the field and to the locker room for evaluation. After taping his foot, the trainers decided to allow Tannehill to return to the game. He missed only one offensive series as a result.

“We are never going to question his toughness or his willingness to get back and help us win,” coach Mike Vrabel said of Tannehill following the close loss to the Chargers.

This is the same ankle that Tannehill injured in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. On that occasion, Tannehill was sidelined for two weeks, with backup quarterback Malik Willis starting in his place.

Willis took part in all of the Titans’ first-team snaps on Tuesday and Wednesday and is largely expected to replace Tannehill for the rest of the season. Prior to his injury, Tannehill threw for 2,536 yards and 13 touchdowns with six interceptions.

Sources revealed to ESPN on Friday that the Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Harold Landry III tore his ACL during Wednesday’s practice session. This news comes as a major setback to the Titans, especially since Landry led the team with a career-high 12 sacks last season.

In addition to becoming the first Titans pass-rusher with double-digit sacks since Brian Orakpo had 10.5 in 2015, Landry also provided 49 quarterback pressures, 22 quarterback hits, 21 quarterback hurries, and 14 tackles for loss.

As one of the Titans’ most durable picks, Landry was on the field for 89.5% of the team’s defensive snaps last season. He has also been praised by Titans general manager Jon Robinson as a hard-working player who “is chomping at the bit to get back out there” and perform for his team.

With Landry most likely unavailable for the Titans’ opening fixtures in the new NFL season, the team will potentially need to consider selecting outside linebacker Rashad Weaver as a replacement. Alternatively, veteran edge defender Ola Adeniyi could prove a viable replacement.

The Tennessee Titans managed to put their embarrassing loss against the Arizona Cardinals in the season opener behind them. They bounced back with a 33-30 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday that included overcoming an early 15-point deficit.

Being thrashed 13-38 by the Cardinals in Week 1, Tennessee entered Week 2 with something to prove. But their offense didn’t get that memo in the first half, managing to put just nine points on the board via field goals.

The Seahawks, on the other hand, piled up three touchdowns and added one made FG to give themselves a comfortable 24-9 lead at the end of the second quarter. This included a 75-yard touchdown drive with less than a minute left on the clock.

The second half, however, saw a different version of the Titans taking the field. Thanks to a monstrous effort by running back Derrick Henry, which included a 60-yard TD run, the Titans erased the difference and forced overtime.

Tennessee got the first possession in the OT but turned the ball over to Russell Wilson and Seattle with a quick three and out. Luckily for the Titans, the Seahawks also failed to seize the opportunity with Wilson taking a sack at his own 1-yard line.

This allowed the Titans to get a good starting position and set themselves up for an easy 36-yard field goal attempt that kicker Randy Bullock didn’t have trouble converting.

Henry was the best player on the field on Sunday night, rushing for 182 yards and three touchdowns while adding 55 receiving yards from six catches. Julio Jones also had an impressive outing for the Titans, catching six passes for 128 yards.

The Seahawks were led by signal-caller Russell Wilson, who threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns, and wideout Tyler Lockett, who had 178 receiving yards on eight receptions.

Tennessee, who now improved to 1-1, faces their divisional rivals, the Indianapolis Colts next week. Seattle, who is also 1-1 to start the season, travels to Minnesota to face the Vikings in Week 3.

It didn’t take long for Tennessee Titans to move linebacker Kamalei Correa after he made a trade request. Less than 24 hours after Correa expressed wishes to play elsewhere, the Titans agreed to trade the 26-year-old player to Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jaguars confirmed the trade late on Wednesday, revealing that they sent a sixth-round pick in 2021 to Titans while receiving Correa and 2021’s seventh-rounder.

Kamalei Correa has been unhappy about his role in Tennessee this season, only playing 38 defensive snaps and 23 special-teams snaps in the first three games in 2020. Being inactive in Titans’ postponed Week 5 bout against Buffalo Bills proved to be a tipping point for Correa, as he asked to be traded the following day.

Being well covered at the position, Titans didn’t want to keep Correa from pursuing playing time someplace else and were reportedly willing to release him if they can’t find a trade partner.

Correa should now receive a fresh start with Jacksonville and is expected to receive a chance to prove himself with a rebuilding Jags team. He is coming off a promising 2019 NFL season in which he had 37 tackles, 5.0 sacks, two pass deflections, and one fumble recovery.

Tennessee Titans will re-open the doors of Nissan Stadium for their fans next month. This was confirmed by the team in an official statement issued on Thursday.

According to the Titans, fans will be allowed back to the stadium in a limited capacity in October after the Nashville officials and city’s Public Health Department gave a green light for the plan.

Fans will be able to attend games starting October 4, when Pittsburgh Steelers come to town. The capacity of Nissan Stadium for this game will be capped at 10 percent (close to 7,000 seats). For the two following games against Buffalo Bills on October 11 and against Houston Texans on October 18, the capacity will be increased to 12.5 percent and 15 percent, respectively.

“We are thrilled to welcome fans back to Nissan Stadium,” said Titans president and CEO Burke Nihill in a statement. “We feel confident that our Safe Stadium Plan will give everyone a safe and comfortable experience as they return to our gates.”

Most NFL teams that played their Week 1 games at home didn’t have fans on stands due to coronavirus pandemic-related concerns. However, this is likely to change as the season progress since several organizations hinted that they are thinking about following Titans’ lead.

Tennessee Titans got themselves a great start of 2020 NFL season with a 16-14 win against Denver Broncos on Monday night. However, in order to get there, the Titans really had to work hard and overcome shaky play from their quarterback Ryan Tannehill and kicker Stephen Gostkowski’s struggles.

For the major part of the game, Tannehill, who signed a four-year, $118 million deal in the offseason, failed to generate meaningful offense for the Titans. Their trips down the field finished around 30-40 yards, and the inability to move the ball further limited them to attempting field goals.

This wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for Gostkowski, who failed to convert on those kicks. He missed three FGs in the first three quarters, before adding an extra point miss early in the fourth. This led to the Titans’ trailing a point with five minutes left on the clock and starting position deep in their own half.

Although it seemed that Tennessee might lose this one, Tannehill stepped up and got to work. He took the Titans 80 yards down the field and got them into position to get a win with a 25-yarder. Gostkowski once again took the field, but this time, he sent the ball straight through the goal and got an important win for his new team.

“You don’t always get that lucky to get a chance to redeem yourself,” said Gostkowski after the game. “But I’m just happy that the guys got to celebrate. I’m disappointed in myself and embarrassed and frustrated, but at the end of the day, we won, and luckily, guys are happy going home.”

The standouts for the Titans ended up being Tannehill, who finished the game with 249 passing yards and two TDs, and Corey Davis with seven receptions for 101 yards. Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry added 116 rushing yards.

Broncos’ were led by signal-caller Drew Lock, who had 216 yards and a touchdown, while Melvin Gordon rushed for 78 yards and one TD.

Titans play Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 while the Broncos have a tough road game against Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tennessee Titans will have a competition for the backup quarterback spot this offseason. The team announced on Wednesday that they have signed former NY Jets’ signal-caller Trevor Siemian to a one-year deal.

Siemian started one game with Jets last season, stepping in for Sam Darnold in Week 2. The 28-year-old player managed to complete just three passes before suffering a ligament injury that ended up ruling him out for the season.

Siemian gives Titans an experienced option on the QB position, although he will have to fight off the 2018’s seventh-round pick Logan Woodside for the No.2 spot. The team previously let go of the University of Hawaii product Cole McDonald, whom they drafted in the last round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Trevor Siemian, himself a former seventh-rounder, previously started 24 games for Denver Broncos between 2016 and 2017. During that time, he completed 59.2 percent of his passes, throwing for 5,686 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Broncos brought in Case Keenum ahead of 2018 season and traded away Siemian to Minnesota Vikings. In Minnesota, he backed Kirk Cousins and failed to make a single appearance during the regular season.

Tennessee Titans managed to agree to a long-term deal with their Pro Bowl back Derrick Henry after all. The team announced on Wednesday that Henry agreed to a four-year deal that will keep him with the franchise through 2023.

According to reports, Henry’s deal is worth $50 million and comes with $25.5 million in guarantees. His $12.5 yearly salary makes him the fifth-highest paid running back in the league.

Titans confirmed the news on their social media.

Previous reports indicated that Henry might play out the 2020 NFL season under a $10.2 franchise tag, as the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement on various terms of the extension. However, the negotiations gained momentum in recent days and wrapped up successfully just hours before Wednesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

Derrick Henry was Titans’ most important player on offense last season, rushing to NFL-leading 1,540 yard and 16 touchdowns. He also propelled the Titans to the AFC Championship game and became the first player in the history of the league to rush for 180 or more yards in three straight games.

By signing him to an extension, Titans show that they intend to continue to have Henry as the focal point of their offense, hoping he can run them to a Super Bowl appearance. It remains to be seen whether that turns out to be the case.
