It didn’t take long for Tennessee Titans to move linebacker Kamalei Correa after he made a trade request. Less than 24 hours after Correa expressed wishes to play elsewhere, the Titans agreed to trade the 26-year-old player to Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jaguars confirmed the trade late on Wednesday, revealing that they sent a sixth-round pick in 2021 to Titans while receiving Correa and 2021’s seventh-rounder.

Kamalei Correa has been unhappy about his role in Tennessee this season, only playing 38 defensive snaps and 23 special-teams snaps in the first three games in 2020. Being inactive in Titans’ postponed Week 5 bout against Buffalo Bills proved to be a tipping point for Correa, as he asked to be traded the following day.

Being well covered at the position, Titans didn’t want to keep Correa from pursuing playing time someplace else and were reportedly willing to release him if they can’t find a trade partner.

Correa should now receive a fresh start with Jacksonville and is expected to receive a chance to prove himself with a rebuilding Jags team. He is coming off a promising 2019 NFL season in which he had 37 tackles, 5.0 sacks, two pass deflections, and one fumble recovery.
