Major League Soccer has revealed the selection of 28 players that made the 2021 MLS All-Star team. This team will represent the league in the All-Star Game that will take place on August 25th in Los Angeles against the All-Star team from Mexico’s Liga MX.

The game between the two All-Star teams was initially scheduled for the 2020 season, but it ended up being canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The MLS team is headlined by Carlos Vela and Chicharito Hernandez, the pair of Mexican forwards who play for rivals LAFC and Los Angeles Galaxy, respectively. This will be Vela’s third All-Star nod while Chicharito gets his first All-Star appearance in his second season in the league.

The duo will be joined by Orlando City’s star forward Nani, Nashville’s center Walker Zimmerman, and striker Diego Rossi, who are all set to play in their second All-Star game.

The 2021 MLS All-Star team has players from 15 different teams. Most of them come from the Seattle Sounders, who are sending six players to the All-Star game. LAFC and New England Revolution will be represented by four players apiece. 24 out of the 28 players selected in the team will be making their first All-Star appearance.
