The San Francisco 49ers, who find themselves with a perfect 6-0 record heading into Week 8 of the NFL season, made a move to bolster their squad down the stretch after acquiring veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders from the Denver Broncos.

The Niners sent a third and a fourth-round pick to Denver in exchange for Sanders and a fifth-round pick in the 2020 Draft.

The former Steelers wideout, who spent the past five and a half seasons with the Broncos, will join a San Francisco offense that was a little thin at the wide receiver position. Sanders will provide valuable experience and snaps to help bolster the production of #1 and #2 wideouts Dante Pettis and Marquise Goodwin.

Sanders has proven to still be an effective receiver, even at the age of 32. The SMU alum hauled in 71 passes for 868 yards and 4 touchdowns in only 12 games of action in the 2018 season. He has 30 catches for 367 yards and 2 touchdowns so far in 2019. He will provide Jimmy Garoppolo with another option in the team’s passing attack.

The veteran wideout is expected to make his debut with the team when they travel to Charlotte to take on the Panthers on Sunday.
