Doc Rivers shouldn’t be out of a job for too long after recently being fired by Los Angeles Clippers. According to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears, Rivers is already attracting interest from NBA teams with open head coaching vacancies.

Spears report that Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans reached out to Rivers shortly after he became jobless and expressed interest in his services.

Rivers is expected to be heavily pursued by several other organizations that are looking to make a coaching change. One of the plausible options is also Houston Rockets, where he would be reunited with his son Austin Rivers.

Doc Rivers took over the Clippers in 2013 and is credited for turning around a historically bad franchise into a perennial playoff participant. However, the Clippers never managed to make a deep playoff run during Rivers’ tenure and failed to make it past Conference Semi-Finals despite having talented teams.

Clippers’ decided to part ways with Rivers following an elimination in this year’s Western Conference semifinals, when the team blew a 3-1 lead against Denver Nuggets. This was Rivers’ second time in LA and third in his career that he failed to advance when holding a 3-1 lead in a postseason series.
