Many NBA analysts predicted that Philadelphia 76ers will decide to change some things after a heart-breaking loss to Toronto Raptors in Game 7 of Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. If that ends up happening, however, those changes won’t affect the team’s head coach Brett Brown as the 76ers intend to keep him on the position for 2019-20 NBA season.

The news that Brown will coach the 76ers next season as well was confirmed to ESPN by Philly’s managing partner Josh Harris on Monday night. Harris told ESPN that he and Brown had a meeting on Monday but that their talks mostly revolved around the team’s plans for the offseason.

There were reports that Brett Brown’s job might be at risk if he failed to advance at least in the Eastern Conference Finals this year. The 76ers made two big trades this season, bringing in All-Star players Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris, and the team was expected to be a title contender. While 76ers failed to achieve the goal, the front office decided to give Brown another season to make a better impression. One of the reasons for their decision is the fact that the 58-year-old coach is very popular in Philadelphia among both fans and players.

Brown recently also received a public endorsement from the 76ers’ star players including center Joel Embiid.

“I don’t think he should have anything to worry about,” – said Embiid on Monday. “He’s an amazing coach, a better person, and obviously I’ve got a lot of love for him. If there is someone to blame, put it all on me.”
