The Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has confirmed that his right thumb is broken. While the Packers’ star has been playing despite his injury for over a month, he finally had to come to terms with the reality of being sidelined following confirmation of this news on Wednesday.

It doesn’t make a difference. You saw the tape on my thumb. Didn’t make a difference.” Rodgers said in response to being questioned about his decision to continue playing through his injury.

Rodgers was injured upon being sacked by linebacker Oshane Ximines during the final play of the Packers’ 27-22 loss to the New York Giants on October 9. While attempting a Hail Mary, Rodgers got hit in his throwing arm by Ximines, who forced a fumble.

Following the incident, Rodgers was asked on October 26 whether his thumb was broken. “My thumb is hurt”, Rodgers replied, refusing to deliver any confirmation on the extent of his injury.

The quarterback still insists that he has suffered worse injuries in the past, and he was able to participate in practice on Wednesday after an extended break.
