After dismissing head coach Todd Bowles following another disappointing season, the Jets have settled on Adam Gase as their next head coach.

Gase, who was also fired as the Dolphins’ head coach at the conclusion of the 2018 season, will pack his bags and head north to a former AFC East rival.

The Michigan native, who coached the Dolphins for 3 seasons and accomplished a 23-25 record, will look to reinvigorate a Jets franchise that hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2010 season.

Adam Gase is widely considered a “quarterback guru,” and the Jets’ hope is that he will be able to grow Sam Darnold, last year’s 3rd overall pick, into an NFL star.

The new coach’s previous experience as an offensive coordinator, which saw him lead the Broncos to the NFL single-season points record in 2013, was attractive to a franchise that has had an anemic offense for the past several seasons.

Terms have yet to be announced by the Jets, and the team ha yet to officially announce the signing. The team will hold a press conference with Gase once the contract has been finalized and the terms of the deal are complete.
