Adrian Peterson, arguably one of the greatest running backs of all time, is not looking to retire just yet.

The 35-year-old rusher of the Washington Football Team stated that he has his sights set on one of the ultimate records—he wants to take the all-time rushing title from Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith.

Of course, one of his goals is to win a Super Bowl as well, but passing Smith on the list of the NFL’s all-time rushing leaders would probably be an easier task than winning it all in Washington. The Washington Football Team currently has 150-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, the second-worst odds in the league.

Peterson is currently 4,139 yards behind Smith, which realistically means that he would probably have to play another four or five years at least to catch him. In his last two seasons in Washington, Peterson has amassed 1,940 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.

However, he might face an uphill battle getting serious playing time and touches this year. Washington has three excellent young running backs who all had great success in college and will look to dethrone Peterson as the lead ball-carrier on the team.
