Thousands of soccer fans from all around the world gathered at the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt this weekend to witness the spectacular final of the African Cup of Nations. The crowd was not disappointed as both the team of Senegal and the team of Algeria gave all they had on the field, providing the spectators with a great game. The Algerian team left the final as victors, celebrating their success over Senegal in the fight for the Africa Cup title.

This is Algeria’s second African Cup of Nations title so far. The first time they won this competition was back in 1990 – on the other hand, Senegal has never won the cup.

Even though the players gave an excellent performance, fiercely fighting for dominance on the field, the match was concluded with only one goal in favor of Algeria finishing with a final score of 0-1. The only goal of the match was scored in the 2nd minute of the first half when Salif Sane deflected the shot that was taken by Baghdad Bounedjah and the ball ended in Senegal’s net.
