Andrew Nembhard has agreed to a three-year $59 million contract extension with the Indiana Pacers, keeping him on through the 2027-28 season, Todd Ramasar and Jaafar Choufani of Life Sports Agency reported. The Pacers guard was one of the NBA’s best shooters with 25-plus attempts last season, with 48% shooting on 3-pointers during the 2024 playoffs, ESPN Stats & Info showed.
Drafted number 31 overall out of Gonzaga in the 2022 NBA Draft, Nembhard has emerged as a key player for the Pacers during his two years in Indiana. He averaged 14.9 points and 5.5 assists on 56% shooting as the Pacers made it to the Eastern Conference finals. The team defeated the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks en route to the final, where they fell to the eventual NBA champions Boston Celtics in a four-game series.
Nembhard averaged 28 points and 9.5 assists against the Celtics, an impressive feat given that All-Star Tyrese Haliburton was out for the final two games. ESPN reported that Nembhard became just the fourth player in NBA history to shoot 55% from the floor and 45% on 3-pointers in a single postseason.
With the 2024 NBA Playoffs complete, Nembhard is turning his focus to representing Canada at the Paris Olympics.
