Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton didn’t take long to figure out his next move after being released by Cincinnati Bengals. Dalton agreed to a one-year deal with Dallas Cowboys and will back Dak Prescott this season.

According to reports, Dalton will earn $3 million in 2020 according to the contract but could net an additional $4 million based on incentives.

Cowboys confirmed the deal over the weekend via their social media.

Andy Dalton saw his time in Cincinnati come to an end when Bengals decided to use their No.1 pick in 2020 draft to select highly-touted LSU’s quarterback Joe Burrow. Dalton was initially expected to go to a team with a more unstable QB situation where he would have a chance to start at some point. Still, Cowboys were reportedly the most convenient option for the 32-year-old signal-caller. He played college football in Fort Worth and lives in Dallas during the offseason.

Dalton entered the league as Bengals’ 35th overall pick in 2011. He took over the starting job in his rookie season and has since led Cincinnati to playoff appearances. However, Bengals went 0-4 in the postseason with him as a quarterback.

During his time in the league, Dalton earned three Pro Bowl nods while throwing for 31,594 yards and 204 touchdowns during the regular season.
