The Lakers star Anthony Davis picked up a right foot injury during his team’s 126-108 win over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.

Davis seemed to tweak his right foot after his lower leg collided with Nikola Jokic as the two bumped into each other midair during the first quarter. Davis was unable to return to the game following the halftime break.

A source close to the matter disclosed that Davis is experiencing discomfort in his right foot and is likely to undergo an MRI for further evaluation.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham confirmed that Davis has already received X-rays at the arena and that further information on his condition is expected on Saturday.

“I don’t want to speak on it until I know exactly what’s going on,” Ham told reporters. “I’ll know more tomorrow.”

This is the latest in a series of injury concerns for Davis. Over the past two seasons, the player has missed more than half of the Lakers’ regular-season games. Davis appeared to be in better shape this season, however, playing in 24 of Los Angeles’ 27 games to date.
