Since the start of Copa America, Argentina didn’t quite manage to have the results everyone expected from them, giving a rather unsatisfactory performance. But, this is changing and they are improving their game which was clearly shown in the last match between against Venezuela which they managed to win with a score of 2-0.

In the 10th minute of the first half, Lutaro Martinez managed to score a goal diverting the shot that Sergio Aguero had taken after captain Lionel Messi’s corner kick. After the goal, the game continued in a fierce fight for dominance and Argentina managed to defend their side several times, stopping Venezuela in their struggle to equalize the match. Franco Armani managed to stop Ronald Hernandez from scoring a goal and this was the strongest attempt on Argentina’s goal.

The victory was sealed by the substitute Giovani Lo Celso in the 74th minute. Celso managed to score the second goal of the match hitting the loose ball that was previously saved from by Venezuela’s goalkeeper.

This was the first time that Argentina played at Maracana after they lost 1-0 to Germany back in the 2014 World Cup.
