The Arizona Cardinals managed to make more big plays than the Seattle Seahawks to defeat them in overtime 37-34, handing previously undefeated Seattle its first loss of the season.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback, and MVP frontrunner, Russell Wilson had an uncharacteristically sloppy night, throwing three interceptions in the game. However, he was still able to put up big numbers, connecting with his favorite receiver Tyler Lockett for three touchdowns and a total of 200 yards.

However, Wilson’s third pick in overtime was the defining moment of the loss, which enabled Arizona kicker Zane Gonzalez to give them the three-point win. Even though both Wilson and Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray had big nights, the star of the game was the Arizona defense, an already injury-ridden and hobbled squad that never gave up and came up with big plays when it mattered most.

Murray completed 34 passes for 360 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He was also the only thing that was working for the Cardinals running game, adding 67 yards on 14 carries and a rushing touchdown.

Arizona will have a bye this week and some much-needed time to get healthy, especially on defense. The defense is also getting an upgrade this week, with pass rusher Markus Golden scheduled to join them. The Cardinals just got Golden from the New York Giants this week, trading a sixth-round pick for the veteran.
