Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is feeling the heat following his team’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in the quarter-final of the League Cup this week.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Arteta explained that while he believes that his side has the tools to turn their disappointing season around, they seem to fall victim to a number of bizarre occurrences in each match that make it difficult to achieve victory.

He stressed the urgency of the dire situation that Arsenal faces, explaining that if his team is to succeed this season, they will need to start improving their form immediately.

“We have to turn it around, there is no question,” Arteta explained. “If we don’t, we are in big trouble, so this is the moment that is going to decide our season.”

Currently, Arsenal sits in 15th place on the Premier League table with 14 points; the club’s worst start to a league campaign since the 1974-75 season. The Gunners have lost five of their last seven Premier League matches, including embarrassing home defeats against Burnley, Wolves, and Aston Villa.
